MY HEART
Today, as always, my heart and mind and soul is thinking of my son and grandson. Does the pain get easier? I hate thinking of life without them. I know we will see them again. But I want to see them now. This is someone who I spoke with at least two times a day. How can this be easy for anyone?
Just venting.....

OH sweet friend, I hear your heart. It's SOOOOOO hard!!!
Does the pain get easier? All I can say is FOR ME, the carrying of the pain, the living my life with Kala as she is now, is MUCH easier than it was in our beginning. I don't know if that means the "pain" is less or if I am just more used to it. I couldn't imagine it possible during the early years of grief, but I am living proof that life after the unthinkable IS possible.
The missing....now that's a tough one. 14+ years later and I still miss my Kala SOOOOO much!!!! I miss the "human" part of our relationship. The physical touching, hearing, smelling....even the stinky Kala after a softball game. I miss the text and phone calls. I even miss what we never got to experience. And sometimes that's the hardest part....not getting to experience so much that life "should" have given us.
Easy? No. Not easy. Doable? Definitely! "I" think the key is to allow yourself to feel it all, express it all, and do your grief work YOUR way. There are a lot of great resources; finding what works best for you makes the journey a lot easier. So, take what "fits" you, and discard the rest.
THANK YOU for sharing your heart with us. I'm so very sorry you, or any of us, carry this heavy load, but I'm SO grateful we have a space, have others who truly understand and care, to share and bare our souls with as we find our way along this path "toward" healing.

I hate this for you, for us, so much. Does it get easier, easier is the wrong word. How could you ever hurt less at the loss of them, you just incorporate it into your heart and days. No it’s not always the same but any day I can take myself back to those early days. Especially when I think about all we missed. Sending you strength..please be patient and kind to yourself.
