My happy little wedding :)

Well, my happy little wedding is over, it was last Friday on our 5 year anniversary and I really must say that all of the stress and hard work and planning that my husband and I put into it was so worth it!  It was so wonderful to see both of our families and while they didn't hit it off quite as well as I thought they would, they did make conversation. There was a bit of frustration at our wedding dinner with certain family members crowding the table and therefore leaving my mother to sit at a table with my brother and aunt and uncle, away from the other parents and it upset my brother as well and me and Ian, but she was very gracious about it.
The wedding itself was beautiful.  It was a full Catholic wedding so we had the full mass but Ian's father, who is a Deacon, assisted and gave a beautiful homily.  Ian's brother stood as his best man and I had a very dear friend to stand up for me as my maid of honor and she was so wonderful that half of my stress melted away the moment she showed up at my house the morning of the event :)  Sometimes there are special people who just have a way of doing that.
Ian looked so darned handsome in his kilt and dinner dress jacket with his Navy medals and I must say, I didn't make a half bad looking bride.  It was sad to pack up my dress and have it sent off for preservation but after all, I did get to wear it for an entire day and night :) 
All in all, I had a good marriage to begin with but now I feel, with the blessing of God, that it is stronger yet.  It's sort of like anything we felt that we couldn't handle before suddenly will be ok...maybe that seems odd but it's so true that it bears repeating.  Now I can wait for our pictures to come from the photographer so I can look back at our special day even though it will be forever engraved in my memory as one of the happiest days of my life.
