My first zoom!
Well it's been awhile since I had contact with Christians so I looked around the internet to see if there was any local online small group I could join. Amazingly I found a local church that had a zoom meeting this evening and I attended their gatherimg.
It was a very surreal moment and a little unnerving because I wasn't sure what kind of questions they were going to ask me if any and how I was going to respond to them if they were to ask if I am saved?
I know I am but when you're a Christian, Wiccan,Shaministic witch it can get complicated telling people what you are without controversy. I don't want to mock, belittle, or disrespect the Christian Faith but I feel it is my duty to let people know I'm not your typical Christian your used to knowing.
Well fortunately I had trouble figuring out the zoom and it took me 15 minutes for my audio to finally work so I don't know if they were trying to talk to me or not?
The people seemed ok, but they didn't seem to be very warm or friendly. I felt like I was intruding on their special little group and felt out of place with them. I dressed very conservatively and no I didn't have my witches hat or pagan jewerly on lol. I just tried to be as normal as I could as I quietly and respectfully listened to their bible scriptures they were reading and how it relates to modern Christmas celebrations in the secular world.
I was disappointed how some of the group felt they are pressured to be politically correct by non Christians and say happy holidays instead of Merry Christmas. I'm not offended if someone tells me Merry Christmas and I'm not afraid to say Merry Christmas to the people I meet!
If they get offended I gently tell them that I have a Christian, Wiccan, Pagan and Shaministic background so when I say that phrase to someone I'm saying it to them out of love and in no way am I trying to force my religion down anyone's throat. I truly love my God and want people to know that my God loves them too, regardless of who they are, where they come from or what religion they follow. I love them and would be so honored to adopt them into my family with no conditions what so ever! Just come as you are and be part of a family that will love you dearly just for who you are!
I think the biggest mistake that Christians make, is that they forgot how to love someone unconditionally. It doesn't matter to me if the person standing before me loves God or not!
What matters to me is that my God loves them with all His heart and will always be there if they need Him, even if they reject Him completely that is fine! He respects people who have the free will right to reject Him, that is why God is so Awesome! He loves you even when you reject Him and will respect your right to find your own religion but will always be there for you if the religion you chose does not work out for you.
If God can love the people that reject Him, I can too! That is what unconditional love means and that is how I use my Christianity to show what true love is!
I'm not going to judge you or belittle your religion even if it is completely different than the Christian faith! I'm just glad you're here and I would be honored to have you for a sister or brother in my family because I love you and that is what my religion is all about!
No I'm not your typical Christian, just look at my background lol! But none of that matters when love is on your side and you will have a friend that will love you unconditionally just as God loves me unconditionally!
It is the most beautiful love I have ever seen and hope you can see it too one day,
Well I thanked the pastor from the zoom meeting and told him that I come from many religious backgrounds and even though I have Christian and Wiccan roots, he doesn't have to be politically correct with me!
So I wished him and his family a Merry Christmas and hope he undetstands that not all pagans are against that term when it is used out of love.
Merry Christmas is similiar to merry meet in the Wicca Faith it means we are so happy to see you after a long absence and I truly believe that is the way Jesus feels when someone comes back after a long absence from His presence! Thanks for allowing me to share my thoughts with you and being part of my family because you're AWESOME too!!!
