my first yoga class
Oh brother; me in my dirty blue jeans and long sleeve shirt, and 2004 broken leg, and half deaf, the only man too in a room of about 20 women in spandex.....
I definately am desperate to relax, while waiting for next month's colon cancer test, that I forced myself to try such a thing; 90 minutes worth, for ten dollars.
Did that yesterday, Monday, and Saturday an amateur music review at same place; an hour of Andrew Lloyd Webber songs; lots of off key singing, with a dingy piano as only accompaniament, and probably mostly the performer's family for audience, but again fun. Certainly takes courage to get up in front of even a small audience and sing, with me nervous as heck just because it was the first time for me to go to such a thing.
Next week for another yoga class; at 56 with a broken leg I seemed to be holding my own against the women, my creaky neck already doesnt make as much cracking noise, and the good thing about being half deaf and unable to hear the instuctor is that I have to check out the women in spandex to know what is the next yoga position.

Oh MIKE! Good on you for getting out and doing stuff! especially the yoga! Try to snag yourself some scrubs to wear instead of the jeans. Jeans can pull on your body in ways that are very counter productive to the benefits of yoga.
Did you sing?
Oh MAN. I am so happy you are getting out and about!
Being the only guy at yoga can have many advantages. You just might snag a rich girlfriend!
My husband is a huge fan of yoga. He does it 7 mornings a week and also a few evenings. It keeps him sane :) Hope you enjoy it!
you can do yoga? wow! impressive! scrub up and keep attending. you might find a compassionate woman who will love you!
May have forgotten to mention this but I taught yoga for many years and my Hubs was one of my best students. I am SO voting for you to get a GF or wife out of this!
hi, TroJanThunder
oh lord; just going out, at \"night\" (7 oclock!) is a major event for me, after my hillbilly town was scary; though i am hoping that yoga classes and other stuff will bring me back from the dead.
my ideal would-be gf would be somebody...half deaf as me, though would probably be a tasmanian devil cartoon sight and sound of yelling at one another in order to hear what we\'re saying;)
a lifetime of me in jeans, after highschool in nerdy slacks. me at andrew lloyd webber review trying not to eat popcorn while the singing was going on, so as not to be rude.
KelleyPaterson,
thanks for telling me about your husband; makes me feel less of an...odd man out.
would be nice if i could hear the instructor while i\'m supposed to keep my eyes closed, hands in praying position to relax....i\'m too worried of half-deaf me staying in that position while others told to start a standing position;)
thanks, bluemoon29
but, i\'ll be glad enough to relax from yoga while waiting for my very unromantic colon exam next month;)
stay hopeful!
Have you told the teacher you are hearing impaired? She might have a few tricks up her sleeve to help you out.
Hi, TroJanThunder,
today i joined a writing group at the library----with lousy realization i\'m goona have to try to get a hearing aid, though willing cause i read yesterday that such a thing would help drown out my tinnitus/24 hour ringing in my ears.
Hearing aids cost a bundle. Good luck!
thanks, TroJanThunder,
place i went to even closed half of the week, just like the one in the town i left; maybe its even the same person running the place.
