MY FIRST HARVEST
This year was the first time I tried my hand at gardening and really didn't do too bad considering I was clueless as to what I was doing. I had read a few books and had gotten a few tips, but the bottom line in all of them was experience is your best teacher. I certainly learned a lot this year, working a 12 x 15' space. Next year. I'm going to devote half my backyard to it. With fencing flagstone and possibly even a fountain. I got a lot of joy out of it. I had another first this year. In all my 50+ years on the planet. I have never once voted for anybody for anything. This was the first year, I never really watched any political campaigning. My best friend mischief here on daily strength gave me the encouragement to see what it was all about. It wasn't a racial issue, or even a popularity contest. I listened carefully to all the different speeches and mudslinging and decided I certainly didn't want to see more of the same pocket lining politics that have been going on for the last eight years. So basically I just voted for some change in the way things are being run. I think it's time we stopped running over to other countries to kill people for their oil and spend some of those billions on the people are starving in the streets right here in the United States. I remember when the Clintons were in office. I did not give a damn who the president was messing around with. The economy was flowing nicely and my pockets were full. Who Bill Clinton was messing around with should have been no one's business except him and his family. As long as the country is being ran in a way that a few of us Joe the plumbers can make a buck. I don't care what the Royals are doing in the palace. I got on the phone and encouraged many others who I knew had the same mindset that I had a feeling that my vote would never count for anything and got them to register and vote. It doesn't stop here, though. It's time for all of us here in America to take an active stance on the way this country is being ran. This country is built on a house of cards, and Lord help the person who loses his job or gets sick and hospitalized for a month without health insurance that person is subject to lose everything they ever work for in a 30 day run of illness. It's time for the people to take an active role in government and stop leaving it up to those who are just there to line their pockets. I pray that all the candidates admitted into office for this next term live up to their promises of change.. Here in the United States. Change is long overdue

I think gardening is a great hobby to pick up. I\'ve been thinking about doing some of that myself. Lol. I wanted to have an herb and vegetables garden, problem is I don\'t have a backyard, just a patio, but have enough room for herbs and small plants. You and I have very much the same views when it comes to our politics and country. We are long overdue for a change and i am so glad Obama won the election. I also will agree with you when it pertains to Bill Clinton, I thought he was an exceptional president. The country just seemed to have been a better place when he was in office, it\'s too bad the rest of the country couldn\'t get past the stupid affair. I mean, many great presidents before him have committed similar acts, but that hasn\'t affected their abilities to run a country. So, I\'m with you, I hope we start to see positive changes in the near future. Take care, hugs hugs hugs...
