My first computer build
I wish to share a story with everyone about myself an a very nice memory I have and wish that I could share those feelings I had then to an extent. This little memory though is a little explicit and you'll find a little bit about me and not everything will be just this memory because I will feel the need to write in many extra details like this because that's just who I am.
So back during middle school I used to spend a lot of time with my grandparents, because papa wasn't doing well he has severe heart problems. My life had been rough, I was the like any other kid from my time that I really didn't know well but wanted to hang out with sexually active. I had never done anything with a girl except kiss. But one of the times I was at my grandparents they had a computer issue and I just so happened to have some computer knowledge, maybe more then I had ever imagined til future events happened. I had told my grandfather my cousin's computer had a failing hard drive, to this day I still don't know for sure if that was really the issue but something was wrong with his computer that wasn't right for age of system parts. Something didn't feel right so I claimed it to be the hard drive the only explaination I could give. I was given another computer and the computer with the failing hard drive and was told I could do whatever with them. So at this point I decided I was gonna attempt something I had not a bit of knowledge about, the inside of a computer case.
At this point I opened up the cases and instantly I looked to find where everything attached and find what all the parts where to the best of my knowledge from what I could tell from basic pats (Hard Drive, Motherboard, Power Suply, etc.) I went on to spend 3 nights putting together a successful computer that all the parts fit into the case properly and the OS would install on without errors. I spent those 3 days the day prior and a few days after (approximately a week not even thinking about sexual activities it was like they didn't exist) I was so excited after I had built my first computer with limited parts and I wasn't giving up I kept going as frustrating as it got once in a while and i waited out the worst of issues to see if i could make anything work. I finally got everything i was happy and for days I didn't have any worries. I still have this computer and it works just as well as it ever did since I've continued to upgrade it.
First I went from IDE Hard Drive to a Sata Hard Drive I had picked up some where. A CD/DVD reader and writer to a better CD/DVD reader and writer to also adding another CD writer that also read DVD and later upgraded that to another CD/DVD reader and writer. Currently figuring out how to update to Sata CD/DVD reader and writer drives as currently they are old fashioned IDE. Sata cables and Sata devices are picky when it comes to the connector for data. I later paid 40 dollars to upgrade to better RAM and upgrade to 4GB (Motherboard max capcity with a 64-bit operating system which actually at the time I was using a 32-bit system so I only gained 1.5GB of memory from the upgrade or less). This RAM also had heat spreaders and liquid cooling system capabilities which i plan to add in one day if the computer survives to that day which is not planned to be anytime real soon. I also later upgraded from Windows XP Pro 32-bit to Slackware Linux 32-bit up to Windows 7 64-bit and now to Slackware 14 64-bit. During the time of having Windows 7 64-bit I added in a discrete graphics card from the nVidia Geforce 500 series. After upgrading the last time to Linux, I updated the CPU to a 2.6GHz Dual-Core AMD Athlon 64 X2 CPU and redid the CPU with thermal paste redone this time as it was never redone with the old first CPU and so it was all wiped off. I got some expensiveish stuff and went with that. And that's where that computer stands 7 years later, out living any other computer I ever had and any computer I've ever seen anyone have.
Computers are my passion they keep me calm and from doing bad habits. Kept me out of trouble ever since then I've been the computer guy of the family. I went to high school got into a class at UTC and I was top of my class for the 2 years I was able to go to school there. Because of that class I also got to meet the girl of my dreams. Lately I've been trying to earn extra money by charging people as I've always done this one the side just as something to do when people needed it and they paid if they wanted or if i had to pay out anything significant, now because of certain things I'm doing it and charging to earn extra money to try and earn a little extra cash.
