My First Christmas Without You

I guess the holidays are bringing out my inner thoughts, more than usual. My head has been reeling from all of the poems accumulating in there. I actually took a notebook to bed with me last night because the words wouldn't stop!
An empty spot at my table,
An empty spot in my heart.
Time to start a new life without you.
Though I'm not quite sure where to start.
As the first year approaches without you,
I can't bring myself to believe.
That both spots will be empty forever,
And my sadness will never leave.
You were there from the beginning,
As I was delivered into this world.
I was an early Christmas present,
 And became your "little girl".
I don't know how anyone survives,
When the one you love most is gone.
Every heartbeat I'm thinking about you.
 How does one move on?
Oh how I wish I could wake up.
To find it just a nightmare.
But each day I wake up without you,
That empty spot is still there.
