My first call...the minutes flew by to fast
I finally got my first call! Yay! I'm a bit happier now!
I got home from the post office (mailing another card) and was about to take my dog out for a walk, when an absent number rang into my phone. I had my door open and my dog was all ready to go. I froze, and every emotion rushed through my body. It was intense. I had to quickly pull her back inside (which she was not happy about) so I could take the call and not have all the background noise. I answered and most certainly sounded like the mix of someone who is high and a boy going through puberty.
It was so good to hear his voice! Ughh it made me miss him but I feel so much better knowing he is okay and doing alright. Sounds like he has made a couple "friends" and is able to get outside a lot, so I'm happy! He also got my cards that I have sent! and he thanked me a lot for them...but made sure to point out that i date the one september and not august! I got a chuckle out of it.
I will have to work on the whole remembering it is only 15mins thing. Those 15 mins were the shortest minutes of my life! That will be a challenge in its self. I'm use to the hour long phone calls (3.5 hours was our longest). I barely felt like I got to ask him anything but overall it seems like he is in a decent mood, even though it sounded like he had an awful day Saturday. I felt horrible as we got cut off by the 15min mark without even getting to say bye! ughhh. I knew it was going to happen and have been telling myself to remember to watch the phone time...I guess there was just too much going on.
I'm feeling a bit better, but worried I will crash hard after this getting to hear his voice high that I am currently on.
