My first attempt at free verse poetry

I thought long and hard about what to write
but the words never came they just never did
i looked up and i looked the other way 
but the words they never came no never did come 
t'was as if god himself had barred the heavens from shinning down their lights upon me
cursed to roam the fields with this torment i was 
with no rhyme or reason i roamed 
an empty hollow shell weathered by seasons torn by winds softened by rainfall 
i broke 
indeed break i did with time 
bit by bit piece by piece my person eroded off of me 
got lost somewhere in those fields never to be found again...
I have now an empty shallow existence living from day to day
I have left nothing but hope for a better tomorrow
hope that someday you will return 
bringing back smiles and joy and laughter to this empty house of mine
t'is all i now have left
t'is all i now life off...
