My Ex died this morning!
My ex died this morning at 3:06 a.m. She had slipped into a coma about 10pm. My daugher, her husband and my son were with her. I am proud of my daughter and my son. They were with her though it all.
Some think my sadness and grief isn't understandable due to us divorcing almost 39 yrs. ago and, maybe you are right. I met her when she was a little blond haired, blue eyed 6th grader. This was about 1957. We wrote letters to each other during that summer. When school started that fall, we would visit across the boundary line in school at lunch hour. When I turned 16, I would go to her house and play dominoes with her mom and dad. They were relatively poor people. I bought her, her first store bought dress.
When her parents finally let her car date, she and I dated off and on, all through my high school years. I graduated and she still had 2 yrs. to go but, we still dated. My dad married us, she was 16 and I was 19. She was the only girlfriend I had ever had. There were many unseen problems that I did not know about or, understand, that led to some bad things and she and I divorced in 1974. I paid child support for 14 years. There was much bitterness and hatred towards me for many years, on her part. There was never any on mine.
She passed away with me having many unanswered questions about out marriage and divorce but, these do not matter now. I am glad that on Monday, I got to set on the bed, hold her hand and asked her if there was anything between us, anything she wanted me to know or anything she wanted to ask me. She said "no, everything was ok". I did not want her to die and her still have ill feelings towards me. For a few moments. we spoke heart to heart. I will forever treasure that time together.
This has been very hard for me. Some may not understand why but, that's ok. This is the 4th death of someone I cared for and loved, in the past 3 weeks. Call me sentimental, old fashioned or, stupid. I try to remember the good and, I have a tender heart for those who were once tender to me.

I DONT THINK ITS DUMB OR STUPID. I UNDERSTAND COMPLETELY. YOU HAVE KNOWN HER FOR SO MANY YRS AND YOU LOVED HER OR YOU WOULDNT HAVE MARRIED HER. YES, THERE WERE PROBLEMS LATER BUT THAT STILL DOESNT TAKE AWAY THE LOVE ESPECIALLY YOUR FIRST LOVE. I AM SO GLAD THAT YOU TWO HAD A CHANCE TO HAVE A HEART TO HEART TALK AND THAT THERE WERE NO HARD FEELINGS. I AM PRAYING FOR YOU AND YOUR KIDS. I AM SURE THIS IS SO HARD ON THEM AND PRAISE GOD THAT YOU ARE HERE FOR THEM. I LOVE YOU BIG BROTHER AND GOD WILL HELP ALL OF YOU THRU ALL OF THIS PAIN.

I not only understand-I lived this too... I\'m so sorry for your loss, and pray that when you are ready that the answers come as they did for me. {{HUGS}}
God bless you Peewee... You\'re such a special man...xo
My ex\'s visitation is Sunday the 13th. This was our youngest son\'s birthday but, he was killed in a car wreck in 2005. This makes this day kind of a double whammy for us. Her funeral is Monday morning. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers.
I am so sorry for your loss. No matter when it hits death needs to be grieved, and you grieve in your own way. Do not be ashamed of this
