My Easter Glory Story

I awoke this morning feeling very emotional; the feelings cannot really be explained as there seemed to be a plethora of them.  I thought of what Jesus must have felt taking that long walk to the cross, knowing full-well what was about to happen. Then I thought of myself and the many long walks I have taken this past year to that same cross. I thought of the many times I have cried out “not my will but Thy will!” How much I fought each “letting go” process until I could no longer take it and say again “not my will but Thy will!” That long walk, carrying the cross/burden on my back was a heavy one each time I took it. Fear would consume me at the thought of “letting go” and not knowing what was my next move. Then, somehow, (ways I do not understand) I would “rise-up” with a “new idea” or have hope in a “new possibility!” Yes, “hope” would set in and I was “born again/anew.”
Then I had the thought “newness also comes with an inevitable, fragile tenderness.” The little green shoot poking thru the ground may become a giant oak tree someday, but right now it is just a couple of thin leaves on a short, scraggly stem that might just as easily be crushed if my foot landed a few inches closer. I thought of my children being born and the fragility of a new-born. How they need to be nurtured, held, fed, bathed, and most of all loved.
So as I experience these “new ideas; new possibilities” I want to remember this fragile state is an integral part of my growth just as it was for the tiny oak tree and the birth of my children; I want to remember to nurture and support “me” as I begin anew.
May all of you find your own Easter Glory Story!

Thank you for your \"enlightenment\" story. Support and nurture yourself, indeed; and encourage our children and friends to learn to do the same.

Rich: I cant encourage my kids; that would be an \"opinion\" and I get in trouble for that! :-) They are coming tomorrow and the \"new\" Vicki is going to Hug them, Hang with them and Hush my mouth! However, I will be gentle with myself as this is \"new\" for me and \"new\" as I said can be a fragile, tender state. We\'ll see how it goes.

Do be gentle with yourself. All we can do is our best. I appreciate your story and I feel encouraged by your persistent hope... And your perseverance :)
