My diagnosis

I've just recently been diagnosed with RA and am struggling with it. My parents don't understand the extent of the pain and I try as hard as I can to do the things I used to but I can't sometimes and then my dad will just tell me to stop complaining. We went on vacation and I had taken a methotrexate injection and was falling asleep and trying not to be a burden but when I asked if we could stop a minute so I could sit and rest my knees which were very tired and in lots of pain my family got annoyed. Am I being over dramatic and complaining? Or am I being logical?

I can not imagine being diagnosed as a child. You aren't being a drama queen. Don't let them make you think that. Methotrexate is a brutal med it makes me sick & intensifies my pain for days after a injection. It's hard for people to understand this disease. I have the same problem of people not understanding. I've been told the right meds make all the difference. I personally haven't found them yet. Hopefully you will soon. Methotrexate does take awhile to work if it does work for you. You'll have to be patient in regards to treatment. I know it's hard when your stiff, hurt, exhausted & just can't do things you could before. Try not to let it get you down & look at the positives!
