My daughter's love
I cannot say enough about my daughter. And here is another reason why...
One of the nurses from the RACU (the respiratory unit Dina was on) emailed me last week. I think she was on more at night with Dina so I only saw her a couple times but she was wonderful. She was on maternity leave when Dina passed away but reached out to me when she returned to work. She asked if she could send something to Hannah, which came yesterday. It was the Dr. Seuss book Oh The Places You’ll Go and a card. Hannah asked me to read her the card. It is one of the nicest cards I have received to date and I struggled at times getting through it. As I was struggling I could see Hannah just looking up at me out of the corner of my eye. She stretched her neck up as far as she could at one point with her lips out ready to give me a kiss. She then did it again right after our first kiss. And finally she reached up and wiped a tear from my face. All without saying a word. It was the sweetest thing ever, and from a 3 year old nonetheless.
I feel so lucky to have her here with me making this road a little easier to navigate.
