My Dad\'s Journey Home

    My Dad after he had his heart attack on the 14th of February started his decline in health even if I was helping him to hold on and get better. Then on the 14th of March Dad was back in the hospital again with high comaudin levels. Then 3 days later when he went back to the nursing home the Hospice team came in to help him . They are a wonderful team! Some days Dad would eat and others he would not. It was hard for him to swallow because of lack of control of the muscles. His involentary muscles would work but not his volentary ones.   The day before Dad went home to be with Jesus he sang let me call you sweetheart to me ! what a awesome gift.  That evening i noticed that his eyes would not follow you however he turned his head to voice and sounds.  I noticed that he had a little rattle like sound in his throat however I did not think much of it. Then on Friday the nurse said that family should come because dad was rapidly declining fast! The minister came and I did not know if Dad had ever been baptised or not so Dad was baptised and the minister read scripture and wow it was awesome. The  music therapist played the guitar for Dad and it helped calm him and us . Dad went to be with Jesus while  music was playing.    The day before Dad died I prayed because I knew I needed to let Dad go but I did not know what to say.  Soom after I put my hand on his chest and told him that I knew that he had one foot in heaven and one on earth. I asked Dad that when he finally got his other foot into heaven if he would tell all of our family that I loved them and hug them for me and ask them to pray to God for me. That was my release! The aftermath is hard! planning for a funeral is not easy! I can not believe the trips to the funeral home and cemetary . My parents had a lot of things planned however there is so much paper work! I thought that working with family would be easy however it is not as I am finding out. Please pray for my family and Dad and if you have any suggestions feel free to share them.         Blessings ....Always ....
