My crown!

This is almost too stupid and funny to tell...I had an appointment at the dentist this afternoon to put a crown back on. I had a cavity under the gumline and when the dentist checked on it he found the crown had to be replaced because there was a small hole cut in it from a nearby cavity filling. So today was the big day. When I got there the dentist was so proud of the crown he let me hold it to see how heavy it was. I have some appreciation for good dental work, as I have a lifetime of sitting in a dentists chair. So to make a long story short, the good dentist and his assistant start making adjustments to the crown to put it in properly. To do this he would put it in and take it out. The last time he put it in he commented this would be the last adjustment, so he pops it out and BAM!!! I swallowed the crown!....I can't believe it. The dentist and his assistant can't believe it. "Come on just throw it up!" "I can't I swallowed it!" So the dentist has sent me home with two pairs of gloves and the instructions to call as soon as you have the crown and bring it in so I can disinfect it and we will put it in next week. So now I have to eat a lot and pray that I find my crown, soon.
Hopefully this will be the stuff of a good laugh, but if it doesn't show up in a few days I don't know what I am going to do. I don't have health insurance, so its not like I can just go to the doctor and have an x-ray to see where it is and what should be done about it. And God forbid it that I need any kind of surgery. So I guess I will have a few more uneventful days. Will write more later.
