my coworker's brother
I just returned home from the wake for my coworker's brother Bill. Her brother Jim passed 14 years ago from a cardiac event as did Bill. When Jim passed at 32 he was asymptomatic. Bill at 49 was being treated for heart disease. My coworker Chris has 2 surviving brothers. Chris is doing fairly well. Her mom Jean who was so very kind to me when Eddie passed hugged me & thanked me for coming. She asked how I was doing a year later. I said I am slowly healing. She told me she will need to call me & I told her that I will be here for her & I will also tell her about DS & FMO. Chris's Dad hugged me when Jean told him who I was and that my son had passed. As we disengaged from the hug he had a tear coming down his cheek. A mother's love, a father's love - how precious. My heart just hurts for them. I said to Jean, "I'm so sorry you have to go through this again." She said, "I know - its just like before - the blackness."
Thanks to all for your prayers and strength for this family. I don't think I could have managed this without all the support I've received from all of you.
I think Eddie has taught me so .much this past year about love & even if I can help to ease someone's pain for even a minute, I will. Thank you Eddie, my precious and beloved son. I miss you every minute and I love you so.
