my coworker's brother
I just returned home from the wake for my coworker's brother Bill. Her brother Jim passed 14 years ago from a cardiac event as did Bill. When Jim passed at 32 he was asymptomatic. Bill at 49 was being treated for heart disease. My coworker Chris has 2 surviving brothers. Chris is doing fairly well. Her mom Jean who was so very kind to me when Eddie passed hugged me & thanked me for coming. She asked how I was doing a year later. I said I am slowly healing. She told me she will need to call me & I told her that I will be here for her & I will also tell her about DS & FMO. Chris's Dad hugged me when Jean told him who I was and that my son had passed. As we disengaged from the hug he had a tear coming down his cheek. A mother's love, a father's love - how precious. My heart just hurts for them. I said to Jean, "I'm so sorry you have to go through this again." She said, "I know - its just like before - the blackness."
Thanks to all for your prayers and strength for this family. I don't think I could have managed this without all the support I've received from all of you.
I think Eddie has taught me so .much this past year about love & even if I can help to ease someone's pain for even a minute, I will. Thank you Eddie, my precious and beloved son. I miss you every minute and I love you so.

You are so kind to offer your support to this family. I know that you have been a blessing to me. Love and strength to you, Angela
You have definitely been a source of support for me. You are so strong to be able to go to someone in person in the same situation. I hope to emulate you someday.
You have put yourself aside to help this family, not an easy thing to do, but you did it anyway, I\'m proud of you. It\'s amazing what we learn from our children-while here with us and now with them just in a different way they continue to lead, guide and teach us. I know Eddie is proud of his Mom as he is smiling down at you. I hope you can rest up this weekend, I\'m sure you are emotionally drained from this week. Have a good night, With Much Love, Charlene
I too feel that Michael has continued to teach me about love, peace, and prayer. I too feel a calling to help other moms who have lost a child. Just a year ago, a coworker of mine lost her dad then 3 months later her mom. She and I are very close. As I came out of the \"blackness\" I used to wonder why I was still alive. Now I know. You are a good, kind person to be able to help Chris and her parents. I agree with MitchellsMom--Eddie is proud of his mom. Love and Peace, Roselle
As I read, I found myself holding my breath...then finally releasing into a big sigh. So sad, so much pain for another mom...again. Your presence was truly a gift and will be remembered always. There\'s nothing more powerful in that moment than knowing someone, another mom, knows. Love and peace to them and to you~~Teri.
I agree...our children teach us a lot, even after they are not physically here. I believe that helping others helps ourselves...you are a wonderful friend to those folks there and to us moms here...thank you...love and hugs...Karen
Kudos to you! peace, Nora
my heart goes out to all who will feel the hole in their heart from this man\'s death.....I am glad you could be there....but wish it was for another reason. Goid bless you dear friend....and to these parents......love to you and to your Eddie....dale, brandon\'s mom
So painful. Precious Linda, how sweet to reach out in your own pain. So much love in such a dark place. My heart goes out to these parents, as we are here for other moms, I think about the dear fathers who are in their own pain. They just grieve a little differently. Love to you and your precious sweet Eddie. Danette
