My conscious
My husband passed away suddenly on April 2nd. Since his passing I have flooded my time with reading a lot of books on grieving. Some of them are Finding Daylight After Loss Shatters Your World - Seven Choices by Elizabeth Harper Neeld, PH.D., God's Promises For You by Max Lucado, The Ten Things To Do When Your Life Falls Apart by Daphne Rose Kingmaker, Healing Your Grieving Heart by Alan D. Wolfelt, PH.D., Loving From The Outside In, Mourning From The Inside Out by Alan D. Wolfelyt, PH.D. and Getting To The Other Side Od Grief (Overcoming The Loss Of A Spouse) by Susan J. Zonnebelt-Smeenge, R.N., Ed.D. and Robert C. De Vries, D.Min., Ph.D. I just wanted to share a few of my thoughts. I truly believe that if I write them and share the that we can all have a fulfilling life again. Please know that I did not read each of these books cover to cover yet. I've been taking suggestions from each one. My lesson number one has been to grieve, grieve, grieve. It truly helps. Understand that you are not dead. What has happened is out of your control. There was nothing else that you could have done. You are powerless. Cry. Scream. Shout. Know that anything that you do is " normal" as there is no manual on how to grieve. Be honest with yourself. Be honest with your friends and family. Take care of yourself, physically and mentally. Let people help you. Start defining you. Start thinking of love again and how great it feels. Open your heart to it. Opening your heart to feel love is healthy for your mind and your heart. If we've learned anything with what has happened to us it is that our life here on earth is short. We should try to move on and enjoy the ride that's left. We all have new chapters. We should embrace them and move toward a more positive attitude. Of course, we miss our mates and the future we all thought we had but now it's to up to us to redirect our future plans. We are powerful people. We are going through hell and we're making it through. If we need to make small or large steps, we will get through. Remember, we have each other and we are not alone. This tragedy happens to people everyday. It is the course of life. I believe that we will all be reunited again. Most of all, keep your heart open. People around you love you. Accept that love....it's what we need. We are good people and we are survivors. Stay strong.

Thank you for taking the time to share. I am sure many others will learn from your knowledge.
I try to remember that I should learn life is short, and should pull myself together to use the rest of it for good things, but this is an \"upper activity\" of the brain, and it does not resonate with how my heart feels... That you believe one day we will reunite is probably what gives me more hope, so ty.
Thank you for sharing that. It is just what I needed today. I, too have come to believe that there is no way around what our hearts feel. We must grieve. The tears help us to heal. The hope you expressed so well, seems fleeting and distant on days like today. Reading your entry brought that hope back into focus.

It is almost end of April, 2015. My precious husband passed July 3rd, 2014.
The grief is still overwhelming at times. I have been accepting it. Your journal post has encouraged me and helped me. Thanks, amazing how we are all connected by such a powerful gift of emotion.
Hugs and love to you.....Sandra
