My Brother

One of my brothers and I got into a somewhat argument this summer. It was the day of my parents silver anniversary and the stress levels were high. I have forgotten most of what we said to each other, except for this. He is the oldest, and I am the youngest.
He never got to go on holidays with the family when he was in high school, because financially, we weren't rich or middle class. However, things had changed by the time I was in high school.
He moved to Europe and worked crappy jobs, and only had extended family to be with. Where as I moved to Europe, started school, and I have our other brother here as well, to be with.
I understand where he is coming from - that I have it easier.
But the things he doesn't know is how badly the bullying scarred me. How crappy some of the friends I had were. How shallow guys are when they hear I like them.
I had to deal with my parents almost splitting up in high school. One brother was in Europe, and the oldest had other things on his plate, so he wasn't so much in the picture, whereas I was right in the middle of my parents.
But the thing he said to me that day in the summer was "You have no valid reason for being depressed".
And he is somewhat right about that. I have had a good life. But I find it is unfair of him to say that, because my problem is a mental problem. I realize I have a good life, yet I am still depressed. If I could be happy, I would, but it is easier said than done.
