My Avatar--The Flying Dove

People have asked me why I have a flying dove as my Avi, when I am an ex-biker. Why don't you have a motorcycle or some Biker Insignia or something relating to Bikers ? Here is the origin behind this Avi.

I saw someone have this Avi and I told them what it meant to me when I saw it. They were so moved by what I said that they sent it to me and, I have used it every since.

First of All, I am an ex-biker. Lived a hard life for a long time until I became a Christian. My dad was a preacher and I grew up on a farm. We hunted quail, rabbits, squirrels, to eat but, my dad would never let me shoot a dove. He said a dove was God's bird of peace and love.

When my son was killed in 2005, it shook me to my very soul. Never did I ever dream I would have to go through something like this. My son had his addictions and this dove reminded me of peace and love, just as my dad had taught me, many years ago.

I read in my bible about doves and how a dove came and rested on Christ's shoulder, just after He was baptized in the river Jordan by John the Baptist. I read about Noah, sending out a dove after the flood to see if the waters had abated.

Because of my Son's death, and the presence of God's love, in this darkest time of my life, and like the dove who Noah sent out, I realized that God had brought me through all the floods of emotions and storms of life, even when I was a Biker. You see, God had a plan for me even though I didn't know it.

Now, I am am Minister and Pastor and I am sharing God's Peace and Love with others, just as the dove represents. This is why I have the flying Dove as my Avi. Now you know.
