MY AMAZING DREAM
Hello all,I just woke up from the most amazing dream:I was in a home with a bunch of "normal" people, trying to fit in & do what I can to help out. They had me take their child to the bathroom, but he didn't make it, & went all over the hallway floor. I finally found some papertowels & tried to clean it up, but it was worse than I thought, & I couldn't clean it all.Skip to where I'm in the kitchen, looking for something to drink. All they had was milk products, & I'm allergic. I asked, "Don't you have any ice water?" "No", they said. Someone went to the store & I asked them to pick up some water. They came back with none. I asked again,"Don't you have any icewater?", Once again, nothing but milk products. I thought, how stupid can you be; all you need is tap water & ice! I checked the fridge & it was frozen shut, from not defrosting the fridge. I was so thirsty.Skip to where I'm walking down the street with two "normal" people. As we're walking, I see & hear, out of the corner of my mind, a group of people, sitting at a table, talking. I noticed the one woman was doing most of the talking, & she was loud & boisterous. I went over to them & said, "Excuse me, but do you mind if I ask, 'Are you bipolar?'" She put her hand out to shake mine & said "welcome to the club." I sat down, & felt like I'd finally found the place that I belonged. The "normal" people that had been walking with me, came & sat down, too. I said, "Please leave! We don't want you here." They kept sitting & I said again, "We don't want you here. Leave". They finally left. The moral of the "story" is, We bipolars have a hard time feeling welcome with a group of "normals." I, myself, have been rejected many times, especially from family members. I'm always getting the feeling I'm not really part of them, or even welcome to be there. I am often left out. But, being with those others like me, here on DS,or at the Clubhouse I go to, I feel "normal", & accepted. That is where I feel the most loved. With the "normal", there is rejection, judgement, ridicule. I'm so thankful to have people like me, who I can share my life & time with, who accept me as I am, & love me for me. We are a special people, who feel things strongly, who are creative, fun-loving & eager to get the best out of life. SO, WHO'S REALLY NORMAL AROUND HERE? HMMMM!
