My almond
I watched you dominate on the field yesterday. I can't believe that mighty 6'3 warrior used to be my tow headed almond. You are greattly loved. You are my son. He means nothing and never has. You are a better man at 17 then he ever has been. You didn't miss out, he did. It's his loss not yours. Almond, so many colleges courting you and your top pick will work out, I have faith. You fought the good fight and worked your tale off in High schoool, have fun, you can let lose and just know God's got you in his hands. You are a warrior and greatly loved. I know you want to protect me but I am the adult and can stand up for myself. It is your choice if he comes to graduation or not but never ever bow your head to him as you are amazing and never have to cower. "Trust in the lord with all your heart." I read this poem this morning and made me think of you:
Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Thou art the Potter, I am the clay.
Mold me and make me after Thy will,
While I am waiting, yielded and still.
Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Search me and try me, Master, today!
Whiter than snow, Lord, wash me just now,
As in Thy presence humbly I bow.
Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way! Almond, play your game and know that in the end you have a mighty, loug and rambunctious tribe who supports you. Me, your step dad ( we would both walk through fire for you) your brothers ( family and team mates) God parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts, etc etc. Have fun and just know that all will be well :)
