Hi family, tomorrow I will have been home a week and I am doing fine. I see my surgeon tomorrow to have staples removed. I am looking forward to that. I saw my primary dr. on Monday, that was good but he told me I needed to take something for constipation other than that... I am good. I will let you guys know what happens after my visit with surgeon tomorrow. Thanks for all your support.
Hi family,
I had my staples removed that went well. I hardly felt the NP remove them I think I felt the last one a tiny bit. Anyways, I am three weeks out and I am feeling good. Eating is different. My preference is still the protein shakes. I am on pureed foods but find the chicken puree a bit off kilter, I prefer tuna and soups. I am happy. I have lost 19 pounds in three weeks so for me that is promising. I really have to work on getting the water down. Thanks for all of your advice as I am still taking it all in. And for the record I like Muscle Milk better than Optisource protein drink but they are both great protein drinks. I think the Optisource vitamin is great for vitamin and mineral replacements. Thanks to whomever posted on the site.
GBS 06/14/2010 I am down 22 pounds which is good for me. As I am expected to lose between 15 and 25 by sixth week and this is only week 4, so I am happy. My wounds are healing. I still cant stomach too much of the puree meat so I try to get protein drinks in though I am still not hungry or thirsty. When I consume the meat I feel uncomfortable and feel the need and quite frequently will throw it back up (just be honest) but I\'m good. I found I can snack on a 1/2 handful of cheerios and it is quite satisfying. I am posting this simply as a chronicle to my recovery and to help those who may be curious of what is to come. Remember it is different for everyone.
hello gbs family, it has been a bit since I\'ve logged on I usually just read DS on my blackberry for support. but I have been keeping a WL journal... I had my six week check up on the 28th of July, and loss 29.6 pounds since June 14 2010. I feel okay but I still sometimes barf when eating foods with texture even though they are puree. I am walking on my breaks at work and that feel great and is very relaxing. Still not physically hungry. Mentally I want to taste a fried shrimp or eat just one California roll or a piece of a candy bar but not because my body is any type of hunger mode. Its a mind thing which I am modifying with behavioral talks... lol Getting a little tired of muscle milk and dont seem to be getting in proteins and foods due to lack of appetite but I do try to get the vitamins in. I dont feel tired but I know I am not eating nearly enough. August 7... seven weeks out I am down 33 pounds>>> Today, August 23 I am down about 40 pounds ... for me that is great. I only have 55 more pounds to go to be at my ideal weight and it has only been 9 weeks. doctor took me off all medication for diabetes and blood pressure and Other than my ability to eat anything w/ fat or oils I am good. Just wish the vomiting would stop. Anyways thanks for reading my post and hope it helps someone else... ttyl
