Music Saved My Life.
People say how can a band save someones live when they didn't do anything to physically stop you you're right they didn't physically stop me from doing anything. They weren't there when I was depressed to the point where I couldn't go on anymore, but, there music was. Their meaningful songs, the feeling like someone understands what you're going through, even though they don't know you, and having been through some of he same things as you.
Take Gerard Way for example: this man has been through hell and back. He was an alcoholic, and drug addict. The reason he is still here is because he called his manger at 5 am one morning. His manger had to talk him out of killing himself. He had the courage to tell someone how he was feeling. And to me that's amazing, heroic
No one should ever have to feel like they want to kill themselves. This man makes me believe that changing is possible, because, he did. He no longer drinks, is married and has a lovely family. He claims the reason why hes still here is because HIS band saved his life. And yes I'm talking and My CHEMICAL ROMANCE!
I 100% have to agree. Because it saved my life too. Those men are amazing people, no not because they're "hot" or "sexy". Non of that bullshit, it's because they love and care about their fans. What band let's their fans on stage? None that I know of. They are truly are a loyal band and care about the fans and it's amazing.
The lyrics to their songs are so meaningful and beautiful. Like Famous Last Words. That song is beautiful in it's own way. It's gotten me through so much in my life and I hang on to this line : "I am not afraid to keep on living, I'm not afraid to walk this world alone". It's so meaningful and it makes me and many other people for not so alone.
I have been suicidal. I have tried to kill myself. And obviously it was unsuccessful. Thankfully. But I promise you one of the things that kept me going was this band. Believe me or not I don't give a crap. But it's true. Go ask many of fans beside myself a lot of them will have the same response. My Chemical Romance SAVES lives. A lot of people are still here because of them. Including the lead singer Gerard Way. <3

My Dear Morning Sadness....I do not know this band. I don\'t have to. You know why? Throughout the history of music, art, poetry, literature there have been artists who have written openly of sadness, of depression, of suicide. Some of our greatest writers have also been some of the most disturbed. Some have killed themselves, yes. But the one\'s who chose to go on living did so precisely because of their gifts. Precisely because they were compelled to get every experience down whether it be by writing songs, painting pictures , making photographs, penning novels and poetry.
And the human moments we possess here on earth are vast and complex and run the gamut from fierce moments of joy to desperate despondency.
Artists don\'t do this to influence anyone (although their influence is felt by the sensitive soul everywhere), they do it because they must do it. If it goes beyond them and touches others like you, like me, like millions of people, well, that is simply lucky, a fortunate byproduct of their talent. It is very, very good, a blessing almost, that you understand this so well, that you understand the hope that all great art is about, no matter what form it may take. This insight that you have will serve you well as your life goes on and it will serve you in ways you cannot even imagine yet. All artists are brave, all artists must reach into themselves in the most courageous way because their mission is to bring to this weary world both the joy and the pain of Truth. Perhaps one day, you might even want to do this yourself......
Until then, let no one take from you the things you love and the things you feel give your life meaning. Those things make you who you are. And who you are is very precious indeed.....Warmly, Jean
