Mt Vernon Fireworks
Hey, Well I am finally posting photos from the fireworks I saw at Mt. Vernon. It is so much fun to be there. They have ice cream making demonstrations. They talked about ice cream flavors they had back in Washington's time. Some of it was the usual, but some flavors I can take a pass on, like Oyster and garlic, though I might try the parmesan cheese flavor. They were making chocolate, but it takes a long time to make it. They had a fife and drum band, it was a smaller group this year than last. The fireworks were amazing, it feels like they are coming right at you when they explode in the sky. And you can see the boats that come to see the fireworks from the water. It is a magical place to me.

Hi Linda, wonderful pictures, of the beautiful event at mt. vernon, seeing the fireworks, and an amazing view of the river, and all of the incredible history :) it's really neat, thinking about how George Washington, and his family, walked the lands there, and saw the sights, and all of the wonderful historic times, the place has seen over the years :) it's truly a wonderful gem and part of America, that is very special :) we're very happy you enjoyed a great experience, seeing the fireworks, and all of the sites there, including the awesome ice cream making process :) it's very neat, how they show how they make ice cream, and that there's flavors of ice cream, that were around back when George Washington and his family lived there :) it's fascinating :)

Great pictures, Linda! Oyster and garlic ice creams...blech! : P Watching ice cream making demonstrations sounds like fun, though. Mount Vernon is such a peaceful-looking place with tons of history. Denny and I hope to visit there someday. Thanks for sharing your day with us!
