MRI Results

Well further to my journal fr yesterday. I had my appt with my rheumy for the MRI results. It appears it's some vascular ......................................... something or other.  Some big long name I can't remember.  Anyhow, it's a lack of blood flow to the hip area.  Evidently it happens with lupus people sometimes.  It can progressively over time get worse & usually means a hip replacement.  However, he did say there are a few other treatments or ways to approach this type of thing but he was not sure what the status is on these other options or if I'd even be able to consider it. So now he sends a letter to these hip specialists & I wait to hear fr them for an appt so they can analyze things. At least I know which is a good thing & I'm going to keep a spot in my prayers for myself & that there will be some way to fix this.  I told my dr that between the lower back/pelvic issue & the hip (both on the same side) it would be so great to fix at least one of them. So thats the story to date. Oh one other thing I wonder abt - my dr asked what I take for pain & I said of course I don't unless it's really irritating but I said I take Extra Strength Advil.  He said he'd rather have me take Tylenol versus Ibuprofen.  Is there something with Lupus & Ibuprofen, have to check it out or if anyone has heard anything on this let me know.

Wow, well, that is interesting! Just some 2 cents here ... two things that are supposed to increase blood flow to an area (qi) are acupuncture and acupuncture magnets. So... also would massage help any? Well I see you have another post, I will check that one out to.

Glad to hear they found the problem! I\'ll be praying for a quick recovery from God for you too!! I would ask your doctor about the ibuprofen question, since he\'s the one who brought it up. I know some docs don\'t like Advil because it can cause stomach problems. Call your doc on Monday if you are concerned about it, Sweetie! Hugs~Kim~xoxooxoxoxoxoxoxooxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
