Moving On
At almost 15 months after you left us so very suddenly my dear Clyde, I have come to the decision that taking care of our huge yard is going to get harder and harder. It also came to me that if I am to move on I need a new environment. God, how do you move on in peace???
I came to this decision yesterday morning, left to go to the store and put it out of my mind for awhile. When I returned my wonderful next door neighbor stopped me at the car to ask how I was doing. As we talked I shared my revelation with her about needing a new environment. I added that selling right now was out of the question and renting was very scary. (You and I put a lot of work in this house honey, and the thought of it being abused sickens me)
My neighbor said, my aunt and her son would like to rent a house. She is very clean and loves yard work. Her son is very handy and they are very responsible! God, is this my answer?? Be careful what you ask for, you may get it came to mind!
This morning I can only think about the work involved to accomplish a move and can I really leave our home even though I think it would be good for me. I don't think I can move on with all the memories and familiarities staring me in the face every day. God, this is hard!
Clyde, I know you would tell me to follow my heart and take it a step at a time.
I keep thinking this will get easier. I guess in some ways it has; in others it has become harder. I still expect you to walk down the hall with that great big smile on your face. I love you forever and ever!

Linda,
I feel the same way about my home. My JIm and I built it together but now it is too big, too many memories and too much work. I plan on selling next spring. It will be hard - but I will take all the memories with me and hopefully a beautiful young family will buy it and begin to make memories of their own.
Blessings to us both as we make the hard decisions on our own.
Linda
Linda, Could you hire someone to take care of the yard? That might be one solution. Diane
God bless you as you figure out this big change in your life. Linda is right -- you can take all the memories with you.
Hugs - Doye
Oh Linda, I could have written this. I am trying to ready our home of over 30 years for sale. The only thing worse (more painful) then selling it is watching it go downhill. We worked soooo hard to make this 165 acres beautiful. The tank behind the house is now overgrown with water lilies. We sold 64 a couple of years ago. I will sell the house, shop, barn & 46 acres. I will move up the drive to my mom\'s. She had 5 acres & I will keep the rest of ours that surrounds her place. I wish you to make the right decision and be happy! Love, Val
Wow Linda - we all seem to be in the same boat. I too feel pulled in both directions. I want to stay and I want to leave. The house is too big for me alone, and it is on the market. But I don\'t really know where I\'ll move.
I too visualize a nice young family coming to live here, but will miss my dear husband\'s den where I picture him every morning sitting at his desk, sipping coffee, smiling his sweet smile and looking after all of our finances. I\'ll miss our big bright kitchen with the bay window we had put in a year before he died. The old one was drafty and David was sick, so we put in a new one so he wouldn\'t feel the cold. We spent a lot of time at the kitchen table, looking out of that sparkly window, watching birds come to the feeder. {{sigh}}
I think it\'s a godsend having those neighbours of yours. The solution is right there. The aunt and her son will take good care of your home and property.
Sending hugs
