Moving on and getting somewhere...
Here's where I'm getting somewhere... (let's just ignore that little side trip in my last post)...
My psychologist friend leaves for good this weekend - moving on to find her new life with her now home Navy husband, and as the date gets closer, my old lonely feelings came back. And when they did, I found I was asking myself alot of questions... is it time for new changes? time for a new career? Am I ready for dating yet?
In the beginning of my divorce, I wasn't ready... it was too soon, too much of a shock, too overwhelming. But THIS time, I'm ready (well, not for the dating - I'm going to float on that to see where I'm going first)... I'm ready to start focusing on myself in the sense that I'm feeling more centered, more calm, more fearless.
So right away, it started with my emotional eating... I've whittled it down to just a food I enjoy, once a day, and in smaller amounts, so it's going good (not depriving, but not eating non-stop either)... I feel like I'm finally in control of myself again... a feeling I haven't felt since before my son was born! And every day I move, I feel stronger....
And because I'm feeling more confident as well, I'm thinking alot about career changes.... The job I'm currently in is good though there are some minor management kind of issues with it... issues that make me question the health of the company. I think I should be pretty stable for at least another year or so, so I should still have some time to look deeper into where I want to go.
And where is that? Well, I WAS planning on getting enrolled in real estate classes over the next year, but I'm having 2nd thoughts. I've been in sales since I was 12 years old and I find myself hesitating whenever I think about getting into this... will I get bored with it? Will I hate it because I'm tired of people? Funny thing is that even though I know I'll be good at it, I can already picture getting burned out quickly, or fear about struggling financially due to the economy, or just plain HATING it because of the people... and it's causing me to procrastinate - not a good sign...
And I think I'm getting a message from God... a door keeps opening wide, tempting me to step through, and almost without even realizing I'm doing it, I find myself peeking in, looking around, exploring it.... what is it? DOGS. Basically, I'm interested in starting a dog boarding business....
Yeah, I know, I'm even surprising myself. First, I wasn't even thinking about this until my problem neighbor falsely accused me of running one... but since then, I've been getting calls out of the blue... would I watch their dogs? (no, I work full time and don't have the facilities)... do I know where they could find someone? (no, I'm looking too)... and that's when I see the need... doggie day care, doggie hotel... people have even been showing up at my house due to word-of-mouth! This IS a tourist area that gets REALLY cold in the winter and REALLY hot in the summer, so it is possible that it would work and I've always wanted to work on my own... Questions I keep asking is how can I even think about surviving if I did it... where would I build it... how would I finance it... who will I find to help me with it....
There's a lot to think about, but you know, I think I've got some time yet to really do some digging, get in my research, make some connections in finding the business plan, financing, etc.... I'll keep you posted! LATER!

Great idea!! I think if you can find a job you love then it won\'t even seem like work! I think you would be awesome in that career. And you could have a little side shop selling natural doggie cookies and things along that line!!
Reading my mind! I\'m already checking into selling dog supplies (bowls, toys, etc.) :)
