Movies Again
I went to the movies again today. We saw Incredibly Loud & Extremely Close. I really liked the movie. It was really deep but it was good. It was a bit on the depressing side, since it's about September 11th and a family after they lost someone in the tragedy, but it was really good otherwise. It's about this boy who goes on a quest to find the lock a key fits in when he finds a vase in his dad's closet. His dad would make up all these adventures for him, and he would go and have to talk to people and finish these quests. It was a really sweet movie. After that, I went over to my sister's house for dinner. I had a good dinner... I had potato tacos, rice, beans, and zucchini. Then for desert I had brownies a la mode. They were so yummy! Probably not worth the calories and fat, but still good. I'll talk about my food more at the end like I always do.
My mood today was good. It was a bit of a roller coaster during the movie, but it was good overall. I did think about my dad a bit when I was watching the movie, especially since it's about a young kid who lost their dad, but it was more of a good movie than anything else. I was just thinking good thoughts about my dad anyway, and how I missed him. I wasn't getting depressed and throwing a pity party like I was the other night. Other than the movie my mood was great... I had a great time with my sister and I got to see my little brother again. He lives just down the street from my sister, so he can come over almost anytime. He has a motorcycle now, and so that's what he rode to my sister's. He is also a marathon runner (boy am I jealous!) and rides his bike everywhere. He's so skinny and in great shape. He takes more after his mom, my stepmother than my dad. He looks like my dad but skinny like his mom.
I'm so glad I get to see so much family while I'm here. I didn't think I would be able to spend so much time with everyone, but I have been. I wish I could spend another weekend with my Nana, but my aunt is going to be out of town next weekend so I won't be able to. I might think about going up there during the week, but I'm not sure. I still have a couple days to decide. I would say Wednesday, since my uncle doesn't work that day, but I'm supposed to hang out with a friend on Tuesday night. I think I will call my aunt tomorrow and ask her about going up there again. I'm not sure I want to. I had a great time with my Nana, don't get me wrong, but I have a good last image of her and I don't want that to change. I know it's harder for her to do stuff like take her pills, and I don't want to be there for the fights. Maybe I can go up there really early in the morning and leave at night. It would be opposite the commuters, but it's okay. I would have to look up the schedule.
I've been having a great trip so far. Except for the one day when my mom had her thing, I have been having a great time. I even have good news about my mom today. They don't think it was a stroke, they think it was just stress. She didn't have as much numbness and tingling on her right side as before, and her speech wasn't as impaired as before. I'm so glad that it's not something really serious. She's just super stressed out at work since they are conspiring against her. She has had people call the store for her to get leads for sales and they go to the other woman working there. The other woman and the boss are best friends, so it's hard for my mom to get anything in between them. She's thinking about filing for harassment since it's so bad there. She knows that she's going to get fired, so she's trying to get stuff so she gets unemployment.
Food today was horrible! I had so much fat! I ate about double the amount of daily recommended fat. I don't know why I've been eating so much fat while here, but maybe it's because the chicken I eat at home is so low in fat that I've been having a much harder time staying in my range. I had about 2,150 calories when I should be eating 1,850. Compared to other days it's not that bad, but overall it's bad. I know that I've been eating all these calories, and I haven't been doing my walking and strength training. I should do my strength training tonight, but it's so late I would rather do it tomorrow. That's the problem, though... I keep putting it off. My stress today was low... I had to take the train home and I was a bit stressed waiting for my stepdad, but other than that it was low. I had a good night's sleep last night, and my mood was great!

Wonderful to hear your Mom did not have another stroke. I hope everything works out for her and her stress level goes down. It is not fun to work with controversial people every day.
Don\'t fret about the food as you are not that much in control of how it is cooked like if you were at home. Enjoy the visit.
Awesome news about your mom! I sure hope she can stay calm and no more strokes. Keeping her in my prayers.
Maybe the calories and extra fat calories just sneakin in cause you are eating differently than when you are able to be at home in your own enviroment. Its really a trade off because alot of the time you are on vacation you are not in charge of planning the meals... so just do what you can and then go back to being on track when you get home....enjoying the trip and family and friends is so much more important at the moment.
