Dearest,
     My dearest Abby, please pay as little attention as you like to this journal entry, it's really aimed at the helpful folks who have been reading over my shoulder.
  The sugar bowl! It was not part of a set, it was a simple glass sugar bowl that looked very much like this one;

I already threw it away, yes you're correct, I should have looked for a name or any other marking first. The one that was part of a set I broke quite a while ago. Long story, major emotional upheaval. The set was bequeathed to her friend. That has already been taken care of. There was nothing special about the sugar bowl except that I liked it.
  Taxes, I have two accountants, two lawyers, and a financial investments guy (Schwab) if they can't figure it out screw it I'll go to jail. Seriously though, I'm not worried about the ins and outs, I have plenty of guidance, I'm just dreading all the paperwork. I will have an EIN number tomorrow if the IRS cooperates and that's a step.
  Squirrels; I am a veteran squirrel fighter of many years. Abby used to laugh at me so hard she would cry. I get downright outraged, and have even been known to try and catch the little vermin by hand, much to the cats amusement as well I'm afraid. It gives me something to be angry at that is harmless. I certainly can't catch them and if I were to do harm to one I would feel terrible. Nonetheless, I hate them for the destruction and the havoc they wreak. They do not just eat the birds food they destroy the feeders. The local corvids take care of defending part of the yard and the rascals have learned to avoid that area. There is also a Red tailed hawk in the neighborhood that I am considering trying to convince to hang out in my yard. A few dead mice on the shed roof ought to suffice. Red tails eat squirrels, squirrels are aware of this. The last couple of winters I lucked out and had a Great Horned Owl hanging around. The squirrels kept a mighty low profile! GHOs eat squirrels too!

I know that we read over your shoulder, but we are a concerned lot. Some of us females know what a bit of broken crockery can mean. We attach a lot of emotion to things. The Red tail hawk sounds like quite a fellow. I imagin he strikes a fearful squeek in the mice, as well would a Great Horned Owl. I would love dearly to see either in the feather, so to speak. Very special birds. I envy you your back yard. Jane

This is something I found on the web, for squirrels. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpXq3izGoYY

Years ago, I remember seeing a different type that was really funny. When the squirrel got up the pole, the things would spin the squirrel off flying. I found it in Texas once, but my mom didn\'t want to hurt them. This one seem humane, if that\'s what you want.

Jane; I meant no offense by my \"over the shoulder readers\" remark. I thought it was a cute way of describing you. I work with these kinds of birds at Audubon, see my pics.
Christie; I could never actually kill one, they just annoy me. The folks that lived here before bred Rotties, they ignored the squirrels. I haven\'t found a sugar bowl yet. The link goes to someplace in the UK that sells one that appears identical. I don\'t even understand the pricing, pounds?, Euros?, Sheckels?
Paula; I have my feeders protected but some things you just gotta defend. Btw those are some mighty wimpy squirrels in that video, mine jump 10\' straight up without starining.
Diane; An EIN is an Estate Identification Number, required by the IRS.
Linda; Thanks, I\'d appreciate any help, you shop girl!
PJ; Stop being so damn jealous!
