Mournday
Dearest,
Yes, I did not write yesterday. It was so quiet here and there were so many chores that, when I was done, I fell asleep, later I got to chatting on the internet until it was too late. The grapefruit tree has a new batch of blossoms and the house smells all sweet again. I was looking at your "little" tree today and remembering you standing beside it smiling and saying "Look it's taller than I am!" you were so cute! Even this last summer you were worried about it. When we first planted it was just a little stick.
As I was falling asleep for my "after work" nap today, I felt you all around me. I felt that you were with me or I was with you. It was a strange almost out of body experience. The feeling was unfamiliar but happy, there was an odd but not unpleasant odor, like old books and old wood. It was comforting but oh so sad. I swear I felt your lips on mine. Just for a moment. Now I'm crying again.
Doogie lawyer finally has the papers ready, I'll probably spend the day Thursday arguing with the banks. I would do it Wednesday but we're supposed to get another foot of snow, another day won't matter. Honey, it's so quiet here and so lonely. I think I've lost my sense of humor. So many tissues, so many dead trees, now I feel guilty too!
See the tree, how big it's grown But friend it hasn't been too long It wasn't big I laughed at her and she got mad The first day that she planted it, was just a twig Then the first snow came And she ran out to brush the snow away So it wouldn't die Came runnin' in all excited Slipped and almost hurt herself And I laughed till I cried She was always young at heart Kinda dumb and kinda smart and I loved her so And I surprised her with a kitten Kept me up all Christmas Eve four years ago And it would sure embarrass her When I came in from workin' late 'Cause I would know That she'd been sittin' there and cryin' Over some sad and silly movie show And Abby, I miss you And I'm bein' good And I'd love to be with you If only I could Good Night Dear, Your Ken
