Mother's Day Today

We had 91 at my little country church today.  We had people setting in folding chairs in the back row.  We had young moms, old moms and everywhere in between.  Today I preached on 2 great moms Eunice and Lois.  They were Timothy's grandmother and mother.
I was blessed to have a Christian mom.  I realize many people do not have this priviledge.  My dad was a minister and my mom was the church pianist for many, many years.  They served the Lord together for almost 45 years.  Dad was 49 and mom was 26 when they married.  No-one thought their marriage would last.  I grew up a twin, and a rebellious one at that. I caused my mom a lot of tears in my young years but in her latter years, she became very proud of me and I was blessed to play the piano for her funeral.  The church I pastor today, is the little church she was raised in as a little girl.  My mom went to be with the Lord in 1999.  We reopened the church after it had been closed for almost 4 years, in 2006.
My mom was one of the last 4 living members of the church when she passed away.  Now, here I am her son the Pastor of that little country church we re-opened 4 years ago.  Starting with 6 members, my twin brother and his wife, my wife and I and one last member of the old church and her son.  We now have over 90 members and if everyone would have been there who normally attends, we would have had 135 there.  Mom would have been over joyed and proud of her sons, especially of me.
