Mother's Day
Another crappy mother's day without Lisa.
It is such a roller coaster of emotions. I am so happy for Cevyn - her partner let her sleep in and made her a pancake breakfast so she could have a relaxing before work (she is currently working at a maternity shop). She called to wish me a Happy Mother's Day and we talked a bit about the bittersweet. She was glad to be able to go to work and get her mind off the sad stuff.
I am sad because Lisa isn't here to wish her daughter a Happy Mother's Day. It just sucks big time.
I loved Joanie's journal. I am blessed to have people who understand when my eyes tear up. I always apologize (I'm Canadian) and they invariable give me a hug or say it's okay. They know I will never be over it and are okay with it. I think a few people get a bit uncomfortable when I talk about her a lot but that is their problem. I don't babble on but interject her into the conversation e.g. "Right, Lisa used to do that too" etc.
But these 'special' days make me emotional. I couldn't sleep last night. I fell asleep on the sofa at 5 am and woke at 7. I was going to have a nap after breakfast but after 3 phone calls, I figured it wasn't in the cards
As usual, life is not all bad. Cevyn will be starting a new job in a couple of weeks. She took an extensive esthetics course at the local college and has finally gotten a weekend job. She has been applying but has always been told she had to have full availability. With twins, that was not an option. I think she got the job before the interview as the interviewer is friends with one of her teachers!
So we are off to dinner with friends shortly. With any luck I won't fall asleep in the mashed potatoes!
Wishing all my SOTH the best. Another mother's day is winding down.
Lisa: Happy Heavenly Mother's Day. I miss "Hi Mummy!" You would be so proud of Cevyn and Brendan. They are such good parents to your grandies. I miss you always and love you forever, Mummy

I did get a text from Alyssa saying Happy Mothers day. I do not count that as anything. Latter on in the day she came over just because she had to give her friend a ride home and she lives across the street from me. All she said was her girls did not want to do anything with her for Mothers day. I don't think she gets I feel pain because she does the same to me.
You and I are on the same page with Mothers day. My son would be the first to call get a card to me etc....
I am having ribs corn on the cob and baked beans I will not fall asleep until I am full.....
Sending you Happy Mothers day wishes
Love Penny
Understanding with a full heart what you are describing dearest Marlene. YOU don't apologize for those tears and just allow them to flow. I stopped apologizing a very long time ago and it has been so freeing and validating to do so.
I'm grateful to hear that Cevyn is doing well and that those two are parenting those wonderful twins as they are. A pancake breakfast tastes just right to me. I'd want some blueberries thrown in too.
Yep, I hear you. Many blessings; always a ting of sadness.
(((hugs)))

Hi Marlene, my day was mixed. I’m glad it’s over even though I’m grateful to have my grandchildren and I try to be excited for the young moms in our family.
I’m glad Cevyn and her girls are doing well. I’m happy she got the job she wanted.
Much love to you and dearest Lisa, from Ed and me.
Yes another one is over now the summer starting. Each day brings another challenge. I am with you in this and happy Cevyn and the babies are growing so good. Do we have pictures on this site yet? I have been out of touch for a while. Enjoy the weekend. Hugs & Peace!!! Kathy
