Mother\'s Day
Well...today is Mother's Day. It's pouring rain here so looks like it's going to be one of those days where you sit around in your sweats and watch movies! My son came home last night with a beautiful geranium for me and left a note wishing me a Happy Mother's Day. I have come to the realization that I've failed in my relationship. Failed to listen to the clues of what my partner wants in his life. And it clearly does not include me for the future. He has told me on numerous occasions that he does not want to get married again; does not want to live with anyone; wants to do what he wants to do, with whomever he wants to and whenever he wants to....he did it when he was married and is going to continue. I have been a fool to think that I could change that. Too sad for me. When I look back on this past 7 years, I have spent a lot of time "alone" in this relationship. Alone because I've allowed it to happen...he is either out every Friday night; he is on a 10 day trip with friends; he is working all weekend; he has obligations to his children (which believe me he does not spend alot of time with his children). So shame on me.....but I will not spend the last several years of my life feeling this way and allowing this to happen to me. Maybe it's time for me to start thinking about being by myself and that it can be a good thing for now! My daughter is getting married in a few months and so I'm busy helping her plan for that; my son is busy with school and work and I have the summer months to think about and enjoy.....
