Morning of Day 3 after TT
I made it thru night 2 without any major complications. Thank you God! He is definitely cradling me in his arms as I go thru this journey. I am truly blessed. I slept in the recliner but slept all the way back instead of sitting up. My surgeon suggested sleeping on a bed if I wanted but to use 2 pillows to prop me up slightly. She said not to lay flat yet but also not to sleep sitting up. It's been over a year since I laid on my back due to the large nodule and my thyroid the last year. I am adjusting mentally and digesting that I no longer have to worrying about the choking sensation anymore. It's a process. This is day two for me on the Synthroid 50 mcg. I don't feel any difference yet... I did feel a couple surges thru my entire body but that only last about a 1/2 a second... not sure what that's about. I will address it with my surgeon at my follow up next week if it doesn't go away. It may just be my body adjusting to not having my thyroid... maybe hormone related? I'm not sure. Also, to my surprise, my monthly friend, "Red", showed up. I haven't had a monthly cycle in over 2 years and all the sudden, here it is! Wondering if it has anything to do with having my thyroid taken out or just coincidence? Hmmmm.... The bruising around the site is less than it was the day of surgery. My neck looks flat. It's crazy... no more lump. No more looking like I swallowed a golf ball. I will post pictures later this week on my blog.
