Morning, and I feel a little better thanks to my wife
Good morning journal, the time is now 7:24am and I have been up and about for around fifteen minutes or so.I have completed the first important task of the day,I have made coffee, and I can feel it's invigorating powers kicking in as I type.Physically, this morning,I feel slightly better than I have over the past few days, this is due mostly to my wonderful wife's nursing abilities, copious amounts of a foul tasting cough linctus, and an almost endless supply of throat lozenges.I have not had any appetite to speak of,but I have managed to consume some of my wife's home made soup and a piece of toast,my breathing is still giving cause for concern and there is still a tightness in my chest, but it is better than it has been of late.I feel my suspicions of contracting a cold were right on the money,my nose is running like a stream, and I feel very weak whenever I attempt to stand up,very similar I imagine to a new born lamb when it takes it's first steps, all wobbly legged and unsure of my footing. When I cough though,it is loose and I have been able to get rid of a lot of phlegm and mucus, which I had been unable to do for days,so that is indeed an improvement, but my ribs and lungs still hurt enough to make me wince a little when I move to any great degree.Last night,my wife discovered a circular mark on my back in the region of my right lung,it is still there this morning,my wife says it looks like a pressure sore but she isn't sure, perhaps I should mention it to my doctor, although it doesn't cause me any pain or irritation,it would be nice to know it is harmless. This morning, once again, the weather is superb, high sun already blazing fiercely through our lounge window, blue skies and a slight breeze giving the promise of yet another balmy Summer day,it's enough to lift the spirits and fills one with wonder and awe at the beauty of God's creation, who could fail to believe in His existence on mornings such as this?. At the moment, our home is silent,my "bionic ears" remain in their respective cases and my wife and our canine brood are still wrapped in a tangled heap of arms, paws and legs in our bedroom,a mass of bodies from which I extricated myself from with some difficulty a little earlier.I like the silence that leaving my ears out in the early mornings brings,it fills me with a sense of peace that I very rarely feel at busier times of the day,and it gives me time to think about how loved I am,how much I love in return, and just how grateful I am to have the beautiful family that I have by my side through everything, good or bad,we are a unit, and I am blessed among men that they are mine.Although my breathing has improved considerably,it is still labored, and I am aware that it isn't what it should be,but it is better, and right now that is all I can hope for,it's just a matter of being patient and doing the things I need to if I want the situation to improve. That means doing what my wife tells me,I am a notoriously difficult patient, but my wife is a very gifted and talented nurse, that's why I call her mama hen,she knows stuff medically, and my condition has improved already under her care,so I figure I'll keep listening to her a while longer.I am still toying with the idea of an unscheduled visit to my doctor this week sometime, perhaps he can suggest additional treatments to help my breathing,it can't hurt to ask.I have had several suggestions offered to me by my friends on this site of ours, pulse ox,O2 and so on,I have taken them on board and I will mention them to my doctor, this illness we suffer from is ongoing,it is progressive and debilitating, and in time it will probably kill me,but I intend to delay that final outcome for as long as possible. The voices that I hear have been chatting to me steadily over the past week or so,and although it might seem a strange thing to say,I am beginning to enjoy our conversations more with the passing of time,I am no longer afraid of them,in fact, some of the things we speak of together are a source of great comfort to me,I haven't feared death for some time, and now,to be holding conversations with three figures from the bible strengthens me in a way,I have conformation of the beliefs I have held since I was a young man,so death is nothing to me,merely shedding the shell which I inhabit at the present time and going home, and I now know for certain that this will happen for I have been told so,how many people can say that?. I no longer believe as I did that they are figments of my imagination,I believe firmly that they are very real, and I don't really care who says otherwise,I believe that I have been blessed among men and chosen for some reason known only to God,but I believe that the reason I have been chosen will be revealed to me in time.Well journal,it is time once again to depart from here,I feel at peace spiritually, but my little fellow will remain on okay for now due to my physical state at present, until next time, peace and contentment be with us.

Scott so glad you are feeling a little better today and here\'s hoping for more to come. I know I sit here by myself all day and I too enjoy the quiet. I was sitting here this morning drinking my coffee and listening to the bird\'s outside. It is raining here and very humid. The voices we hear are real and just the sounds of nature is so comforting. Your wife sounds like a wonderful person and our disease them as much as it does us. There is the feeling of helplessness on their end. It\'s hard taking care of someone when you can\'t fix the problems.I hope you will be able to see your Dr. this week. It\'s good you are getting the mucous out. The coughing causes a lot of aches. Continue to have a good day. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Hugs
