More Waiting
My psychotherapy toolbox is telling me to celebrate the fact that I got the pieces assembled or the lawyer's appointment tomorrow morning. I have even gotten some great results from plying that very tool, but this morning it is not getting past the gigantic but in the stew: Want grand time. . . Miss family. . . Want grand time. . . Need vacation. . . Alas, it is a 14 hour drive between me and the folks I am lonely for. Another 14 hours between there and the lawyer's office. The math on what I really want isn't working and not even the marvels of the river region geology feel like much of a reward today.
Think I'll compromise with one of my aimless drives. See where it takes me. If nothing else, it will fill the empty hours.
Not sure what to make of the fact that my #1 vacation spot for the last half a century is the spot I need a vacation from.

The last line really hit me. My vacay spot is where I need a vacay from. Yeah. Home is where the heart is, and sometimes my heart isn't on the same vacay as I am. My self-ness feels all disjointed at times lik ethat. Head here, heart over there, Scarecrow in Wizard of Oz, "That's me all over the place."
i'd lvoe a day with geology. A day in a road cut seeking fossils in my old stomping grounds up north, or garnet inclusions here, but... Rock-hard life won't allow rock-hounding.
Good morning from down under arfie. Just dropping by to wave hello. Even when I am not getting what I want at some level it always seems to be fate giving me what I need. Accepting each day as its own gift and living just in the present moment can be hard for me too... but it also can bring great peace. Lovely to see you again.
triple hugs~ I almost want to tell you to put everything on hold and go home for that visit cause it will make you stronger, but I know if you could you already would have. still crossing my fingers and hoping you get home soon. I can only imagine the ache to get there now. more hugs~
