More than a baker's dozen...
Well, today was a BIG DAY.
Egg retrieval day!
On Monday, at my final monitoring appointment & ultrasound, the doc saw 10 follicles. Today, miraculously, they retrieved 14 eggs!!!! Woo hoooooo! I don't even know how that would happen. But I'm not complaining, that's for sure! I had done my research (yep, always reading way more than I should about this stuff) and heard that they generally are able to get eggs out of 70% of the follicles. According to that math, I fully expected to get 7. That seemed reasonable to me, and that was where I had set my expectations. So, when I came out of anesthesia, I was thrilled to hear of the outcome. The nurse told me, and tears just kinda started leaking out of my eyes. She instantly got teary, too. It was a sweet moment.
Hubby did his part with no trouble at all (no big surprise there ;) ), and I'll hear more tomorrow about how we did on the fertilization front. This all makes me very happy. To learn that your body is "broken" (in my case, due to my ruptured appendix as a child), and then to get to a place where your body responds as it should, to treatment & medication, is a really great feeling. I feel more "whole" than I have in months. I totally LOVE my body right now, and I ADORE my wonderful best friend of a husband.
I feel blessed today & wanted to share the positive news, one day at a time. I know tomorrow may bring a whole different set of emotions, but that shouldn't stop me from reveling in the good ones I'm experiencing right now.

That\'s great!!!.. i am hoping tomorrow i am as happy as you too... Let me know how many fertilize. I had my trigger shots(2) last night and i am achy and sort all over today. i am hoping its just a side affect and not getting sick...
