more stress but beneficial??
I'm having so much anxiety about everything in life right now. This is a very busy time of year for school, and I'm getting ready to graduate in May and begin that transition. I'm also planning on starting a master's program in the fall to become a nurse practitioner. So anyway I have lots of assignments to work on, as April seems to be the "catch-all" month for big projects!
I went to see the campus nurse today, and she told me I'm underweight. I didn't think I was; according to online calculators I'm not but what do I know. Maybe she's just saying it to make me think harder, I don't know. But anyway she told me she doesn't want me to run anymore and I CANNOT give that up!!! It is the one stress reliever that actually works for me. I've been a runner since probably middle-school age and that's not going to change. I cannot and will not give that up. Maybe we can somehow come to an agreement so I can still keep it in my life. Like maybe if I eat before and after? Or cut back a bit on it. But I can't give it up totally. I'll literally go insane.
The nurse is also helping me with some insurance things so I can finally get professional counseling. Hopefully she can get it all straightened out for me so I can move forward with this. I really need to get better.
Something that's really stressing me about gaining back my weight is kind of silly but I'm just going to write it anyway. I just got my measurements taken for a bridesmaid dress. The wedding is taking place in May and I want to be able to fit into the dress! If I gain much weight it could totally ruin that.... :( Silly, I know, but isn't it just a little bit of a valid concern? I know my health should come before any old dress.
All of the above combined has added quite a bit of stress to my life. But having the possibility of counseling, although I'm anxious about it, I know how beneficial it's going to be for me. If I can get to the roots of my problem hopefully this ED will turn tail and run! It would be so wonderful to live a normal life.

Study project approaching graduation are very stressful and I can understand if running helps relieve the stress. Its also good in that you can do it when it suits you. But do give your body energy. It would be a good idea to follow the normal running fueling recommendations:- something containing carbohydrates about an hour before or run (or even sooner if its just something small like an energy bar) and recovery protein and carbs preferably within half an hour of your run. I know you dont always feel hungry right after a run but if you cant manage solid food try a protein shake, milk or natural yogurt - in addition to meals.Your body and mind will thank you for sensible fueling. Hope you cope with the last minute pressure and manage to concentrate on your projects!
