More progress is always good

I made a lot of progress with coding today. It is becoming more and more clear that I won't just get hired by a Game Design company. I have to do something to prove myself first. I know that they say that the days of a small team of guys working for free at home to make a game are over, but if thats the case then why do you see indie games becoming more and more popular? All big companies want to do now adays is just make sequels of their old games. Most of them are pretty unoriginal to begin with. Smaller companies tick me off too because it's clear that they are just in it to make a quick buck off of FB games and Smartphone stuff.
I have been in this for the love of the game from the time I was 11. I only care that I make enough money to live out on my own and maybe have a thought of starting a family. I just love videogames and thats all there is to it. I will continue to design them no matter if I get paid or not. I think tomorrow I will start thinking up some more level designs and maps. I also still have a boatload of coding to keep myself busy.
I that the game that I'm making with the guys from my school sounds pretty fun. It's really meant for hardcore gamers which is a small and hard to please crowd. When we are done it will be going up on the internet for Free DL. I will be sure to keep updating my journal on how it is going.
