More planting, more planting, more planting...
Today was a rainy, windy, and cold day on the farm. I took advantage of the puppups taking extended nappypoos by starting two more flats of plants. First, there were the cole crops which all start as little tiny round seeds: broccoli, rapini (also will direct seed), cabbage, Brussels sprouts, and 5 color Swiss chard (also will direct seed). Then, as long as I had dirt everywhere, Guy produced another pack of syrofoam cups so I planted another flat including two kinds of eggplants (rosa bianca, long purple), wonderberries (seeds so tiny you don't even cover them--just like ground cherries which I may also plant again), basil (saved), and pineapple sage (saved). The saved seeds I did what I've done in the past. The seeds are soooo tiny, I plant them with the remains on the plant intact. That has always worked with tomato seeds I've saved--I just don't clean them--and that makes them so much easier to plant when you can't feel your hands and fingertips. I've got full germination on my tomatoes though they are varieties that start pretty small as new seedlings. And, I've seen some movement on the peppers so they graduated to right under the light with the tomatoes moving down a shelf. Everyone is still getting light because of the nature of my indoor greenhouse. Plus, it gets nice and warm in there which, of course, helps germination. So, there you have it! My garden is well underway, and I'm SOOOOO READY for WARMER SUNNY WEATHER! This is when winter in Ohio gets really really really old...

Hi Cj! i enjoyed reading about your\'s and Guy\'s gardening adventure. it brings me peace, and great joy, and happiness to read about your love of gardening. as i read, i pictured your plants, and how happy they must be. cute little sprouts! and all of the love, care, and support you\'re giving them. :) pretty soon, outdoor gardening too, and of course, all the stories, and pictures to share. Your plants are happy, and you are happy. That makes me happy Cj. :)
i love your varieties of crops of plants. i\'ve never heard of ground cherries before. i\'ve heard of cherry tomatoes though. we grow them sometimes. are ground cherries, cherries?
The day we\'ve been waiting for, arrives very soon! tomorrow, Spring begins, hopefully with some nice weather. It\'s expected to be windy here, but it would be great, if it was nice and sunny, and sweet blue sky. :)
Cj, you all had a full day, and i want to wish you all, a nice relaxing, and peaceful evening, and night. Thank you for writing to us. :) keep growing sprouts, and Cj, keep smiling! :)
You\'ll be waking up to Spring tomorrow! You are inspiring me to have a greenhouse. Bryan is looking into building one for next Spring. Emily and I are getting our terracotta pati garden ready.
I know absolutely nothing about gardening, so all that you wrote didn\'t make any sense to me. Lol. Please, no offense, just not my field. I\'ll have to learn it though, just because I think it\'s cool to know.
I have been thinking for few months now of actually becoming a vegan chef. And I\'m thinking about it more and more. And I believe that being able to plant seends and make things grow like you are doing, it would be very beneficial to in combination with vegan cooking, and possibly like you\'re doing, the organic way. I guess I have a lot to think about and I\'ll have to make up my mind weather to go for nursing or to become a vegan chef which is the first choice. Lol. Man, if someone could just tell me what to do... lol.
Anyways... your garden sounds great. You need to show us some pics us the veggies grow.
Know you\'re loved.

Wow girl you were really busy yesterday!!! Oh I envy you cause you are jst on the ball. I would love to have a greenhouse like you have and will some day. I think I\'m going to try my hand at the hot houses this year. My gram use to do this all the time so I think I will give it a shot. I have ton upon tons of windows laying around. I would like to build a greenhouse out of them one day but you know how that goes.
I\'m like you.....I\'m ready for this to stop but looks like we have another cold blast coming through Sat., Sun, & Mon. . I know the nights are suppose to get in the twenties again. UGH!! Hubby is going to have to get the chimney cleaned so we can fire it up this weekend because this damp is just kill both of our bones!! Can\'t wait really, I have\'t felt my toes in days!! giggles.
Well I just had enough time to jump on here before I have to leave. Hubby stayed home from work and is taking me. Looks like no craft shopping today but still going to Steak & Shake. So I have gathered up my \"goodies\" and will take them to the docs office so the girls can pick them some bracelets out. Love to spoil them cause they are just great. If I ever need anything or if hubby needs to talk with them they are always there and kick things into action.
Well its about that time so I\'m going to fly off here and get ready. Be well and enjoy the sun today.
XOXO

You are one busy chick, I don\'t blame the boyz, I\'d much rather have your clam sauce too. They know when they got it good. Love Pam
