MORE Money offered! Chose The Kingdom
Well, you'll never guess....yep, got offered a great job $8-$10 per hour and hours 9am-1pm M-F. Still, God gave me that little still voice to wisely say no. Why, you ask? Well, that simply isn't that path God has me on.
See, money was my god for a long time. Money, title, power, position, you get the idea...Mrs. Big Wig, thank you. I worked many many hours to achieve that goal and no amount of money was ever enough, no title ever big enough, see, there was always bigger & better just around the corner. Satan uses that lie to keep you busy chasing that which can never satisfy.
Again, I am not against working. It's just God has me doing other things now and I think from time to time, these little tests come along to see if I am learning and listening. It's hard, but I do try.
The latest verse about the The Kingdom I've been pondering is Mark 14:42
Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
Yes, Jesus is still referring to people in the kingdom as stones and He is the HEAD OF THE CORNER. Think about it, this corner stone must be perfect in shape, size and placement or the entire building will be unstable, crooked, you name it.
So, thinking of people that God uses to build His kingdom, are we perfect? Of course not. But let us look at people differently, shall we? God allows us to be tested, if we are His, to remove the bumps and crooked sides and dips and other misshapen things so that we will fit perfectly into the place He has set for our "stone" to be placed. Isn't that why all of God's children are different and doesn't He say this? We are not all eyes, feet, hands, etc. yet we are all part of one body.
So, why should I be disheartened if I don't play piano like so & so? He or she may be part of a window arch God is creating in the kingdom and therefore, needs to be a different shape. I may be the side of the arch, so I need a little angle here & there to be able to hold the weight I will face in my position in the kingdom.
See, we look at others and wish we were like them and yet why? Doesn't God say not to covet (see the Big 10!). I have my own unique God designed one-of-a-kind plan on my life and that place I hold in God's kingdom is for me alone. No one can be me and I can be no one but me.
Therefore, I should only measure myself against the Corner Stone to make sure I am on track fitting perfecting against Him and Him alone. He is my gauge, not someone who may be younger, thinner, more talented, etc. They don't have my kingdom job or place and I do not have theirs. There is no need for covetousness or jealousy in the kingdom. We are each a unique stone to be crafted for a specific place.
Also, don't forget the last lesson, be child-like, not childish.
Hugs & love my peeps....more later as I learn to be a well fitted stone.

You are so right! I Am so glad you reminded me of my perfect fit in the Kingdom!
Good, sweetie. Who, but God knows, where are place is? I can\'t be the corner stone (His job) but I can do my best to line up to His placement and then when fitted rightly by Him, take my place steadfast knowing I am exactly where I need to be and need not feel less than or more than others.
