More drama
Well, long story short, David kind of flipped out again last night. And it all started because he did not want to do his essay for language arts that was due yesterday and he didn't do it or hand it in. He is just obsessed with that stupid XBox. Then, my mom had given us some apple pie to take home Sunday, and the crust was kind of crumbly anyway. So putting it on a paper plate and wrapping it in foil and in a plastic bag to bring home, David went to take a piece last night and it was in pieces. So the mood he was in, a stupid piece of apple pie was the straw that put him over. Paul started yelling. I came out and said "no pie. Go to bed." I was working late. David runs away. Paul was out looking for him. he was in the rain, shorts/short sleeve t shirt, socks, no shoes. He finally came back an hour later, soaked. My point: his problem. Told him to go to bed. But apparently he stopped by one of his friend's houses and told them he wanted to kill himself. So Paul wanted to take him to the crisis center. It got bad. David throwing stuff, kicking doors. I basically talked them both down. David finally went to bed. Paul finally went to bed. I stayed up past 1:15am to get expense reports done for work. I am whooped today. Now, Paul doesn't want to be around David, doesn't want to go on vacation, blah, blah, blah. I am so beat! Paul took David to school today. His language arts teacher is keeping him after school to do that homework. And I personally don't want to be with either of them!

I\'m so sorry to hear all that, on top of your being sick. Sounds like you may need a vacation by yourself, actually. Please take care. I know it\'s hard to balance work and family. You have the patience of a saint!
I am so very sorry Yvette! I feel so bad and wish I could help. You have to be literally pulling your hair and teeth out. Something will give and I understand you! I agree, go on vacation yourself, let them take care of their differences. You are supporting your family, taking care of all that\'s around you including work. David may need some help and Paul pushed out the door to interview to find a job or hobby :-). Give him your honey do lists! It\'s those darnest things that make us blow off the handle, give David a big hug from me and hang in there. All will be resolved soon enough and we will be here to keep you up! Stay positive and your such a great person, mom and wife. I don\'t know how you do it!
Sweetie, I\'m frustrated for you. Paul really needs to be an adult in this situation and it feels like you are the only adult trying to handle two kids fighting. I\'m so sorry that you feel like you are not getting that other half of support you need with those two. Go on vacation without them sweetie. Go somewhere and just enjoy time away. You sound like you need it, and it IS very fair for you do so! You\'ve worked much to hard on your job, and home life both physically, mentally, oh, and emotionally! I think everyone can hold their own fort down for a bit while you recoup! ((hugs))
That was a super bad evening. Scarey because you never know when the suicuide statements are real or a for attention. So glad it turned out well.
Cancel the vacation...you did not want to go anyway. Take a couple hours for yourself....get away for a massage, a movie, a visit to the zoo...just get away for a couple of hours.
OH Boy! My oldest has flip outs like this sometimes too and I know it feels like someone just ripped your heart out as the mother who has to watch their child careen out of control. We took her to counseling because of threats of suicide and turned out she is bipolar. Now she is on meds and doing much better...but sometimes she still pulls the suicide threat out as a means to get what she wants. Not to say that at one point those threats may not be real...as Joyce points out you never know. So, her therapist instructed us to not hesitate to call Rockford if she makes serious suicidal threats and not to hesitate to call the police if she becomes violent...which she has with me in the past. So, when she says \"I should just kill myself\" that\'s when I start heading to the phone. This calls her bluff because she doesn\'t want to harm herself she\'s just learned over the years this is how to set the alarms off and get attention...this coming from a kid who already gets plenty of attention. But the thing that concerns me in your situation is that David continues to actually run away. My daughter never actually went that far. And I agree with htag that Paul needs to be the adult in the situation and not make things worse by being reactionary. So much of what David is expressing seems to be in response to Paul\'s confrontational response to David\'s somewhat normal hormone driven acting out. And there you are stuck in the middle. It seems like they both want you to pick a side and that isn\'t at all fair to you.
Put your foot down, tell them you are taking a time out and that they need a time out as well. Maybe when everyone has calmed down revisit the issue in a calm fashion. Then if they still can\'t behave themselves you take those tickets to Vegas and go have yourself a good time! (((HUGS)))
Much Love!!!
OH my such stress.. Sorry to hear it. You sound like you are at the end of your rope.
Paul won\'t go for counseling will he even to work out stuff for David?
You need a big time out.. time for yourself to get your battery charged.
Do something that will help you relax. But talk to the Dr. and see what is up with the ear infection.
I wish i could give you a great big hug and help you in some way. It\'s tough for you when David and Paul don\'t get along.
Did you ever sit down with Paul and tell him that you need his help with David?
maybe if you explain to him how it hurts you it may get threw... One never knows.
it\'s just a shame you have to live in that kind of situation.
Keep up with the exercise don\'t worry about the weight gain prednisone makes you gain. the bowling sounds good. hope you can get out and let off a lot of steam.:) (((((HUGS))))))
Most of all take care of yourself and the idea of revisiting your resume maybe the right idea. sounds like they are using the excuse you are lucky to have a job as a way to overwork you and take advantage of you.(a great employee who works hard)
You poor thing, I\'m so sorry things are so stressful and crazy for you. ZECILKL said exactly what I wanted to say.....maybe if they won\'t start counseling with you, maybe you could go to get some ideas on how it could be less stressful for you. Be good to yourself and take some time for you. I hope things get better soon!
