Today it rained again, something that isn't too common in Miami in the winter. I think since Spring is on it's way that Summer decided to come early. Summer is our rainy season, not winter. I was going to go to work if I woke up on time, but when I woke up, it was 1:30 and pouring outside. So tomorrow I'm going to go in early if I can to make up some time. I'm not going to be able to stay all day since Geo is going to see Dr. Miller (good doc) and get some advice on his meds. I talked to Dr. Miller today and he said that I would have to slowly taper off my meds at home, and if I feel bad, then go to the crisis unit. I don't want to have to do that, since they are only going to drug me up again. I want to be off medications for at least a week or two before I go back on them. I don't know if I can handle that, but I can try. At least Dr. Miller is giving me direction, even if I don't go to the hospital. I want my medication holiday, as I've heard it called.
I don't know how I'm going to get through it on my own, I was hoping to be able to do it in the clinic, but they won't do it there, the doctor said. They only do detox of illegal drugs and stuff like that, not a person with prescription meds only. Unless it's something like klonopin, where you can have a seizure going off it too fast. I'm not going to go cold turkey, I'm going to slowly taper down my meds so I don't have a bad reaction. I'm almost done with tapering my Risperdal, and I think I'm going to start on the Celexa tomorrow. Trazadone and Depakote I'm going to start tonight. I have what I need... I have lower doses of my pills and a pill cutter, so that way I can go easy. The last one I'm going to start tapering is the Neurontin, since it's helping me with my mood swings. I know I still have them, so I need to be careful with that.
Today since I didn't go to work I went to the gym. I know that work is just right across the street from the gym, but I didn't want to go in so late. I have to talk to the new boss to see what times she wants me to come in, or if I can set my schedule like I've done so far. I've been coming in at 1 and leaving at 4:30 lately. Tomorrow I'm going to try and do my full day from noon to 5, but I'm not sure if I will make it to 5pm. I might just come home and sleep. I might not sleep well tonight without some of my sleeping pills (trazadone is known for help sleeping) but I will see. If nothing, I can just drink a bunch of coffee all day. I've got the Neurontin there to help bring me down if I start to go too high, but I don't think I will.
I talked to my sister the other day, and she was saying how I'm always showing signs of my disorders. She said I'm down most of the time, and talking about hallucinations and such, so I decided to start logging them here. I don't remember hallucinating today, and my mood was okay. I can't say it was great, since I didn't do much and didn't feel great, but it was okay. I think I'm going to keep my status as good, though, since I did get out for my walk and gym. I ordered pizza and a spinach pie for dinner, and I didn't even touch the pizza. I just wanted something other than chicken. I don't have a lot of extra money, but I had enough for a pizza. So I had the spinach pie for dinner. It's not that I didn't want to cook, it was just that I'm tired of chicken again. I try my best to make it interesting, but there's not much I can do with the limited ingredients we have, and very little money left in food stamps. I hope next month we can do better.
Food today was bad... I barely ate anything, and what I did eat (the spinach pie) wasn't too healthy for me. I'm way under my calories though, and under on everything else that I track. I'm stuffed, so there's no way that I'm going back for more. I did make banana bread tonight... that was my cooking. It came out good, and I'm going to see about taking some to work tomorrow to give out to friends. I wish that I could have found my loaf pan, that would have made things easier. But oh well.. it's there somewhere and next time I want to bake banana bread I should find it. Or I'm going to find it tomorrow or something, where I just missed it. Stress today was low... nothing really to get stressed over, and sleep last night was good. I didn't wake up too many times, didn't have to take anything for sleep and felt good waking up. I hope tomorrow I feel the same way!

Just got up to date on this week journals! Great that you are following the Good Dr\'s advice to go slow with going off your meds. Let yourself adjust rather than shock it with cold turkey.
Keeping fingers crossed for George...he will get a weigh in right? My Hubby is a day napper too because he does not sleep good at night. As I type he is snoozing in his chair. I am blessed to be able to sleep good.
Sending wishes you and Geo to have wonderful weekend.
I\'m glad you are going to do the detox the right way. But you know if you go through all that hard work why not stay off them as long as you can handle. I don\'t think a week without meds is enough to show you the real you. And if you are having troubles call dr miller.
Hm, I never had spinach pie but it sounds yummy. I love spinach.
