Money don't buy peace in THE KINGDOM
Hi, my peeps. Been thinking a lot about the above matter. It's in my journal a couple entries back. The next thing I have been thinking about is this...WHAT IS THE KINGDOM? Remember, Jesus promised in Matthew 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Then I thought of the verse where Jesus says in Mark 10:14-15
But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
Let's think about this...as I said in my first entry, the kingdom of God is PEOPLE and this just shows it even more so. But this verse shows us what type of people...like a little child. That's pretty important to take note of.
Then I began to let my mind think upon what a child is like. Let's see: (1) They are not selfish (2) They are concerned about others needs and pains and sorrows (3) They forgive quickly (4) They give love without expecting anything in return (5) They believe what the person in authority says without question (6) They are compassionate & giving
Getting any other ideas here? Oh, I'm not talking about when kids have a squabble, don't we all? But I am talking basically this is how kids are. They look up to the one in authority and I'm sure each of us has had a tag-a-long that wanted to be wherever we were just so they could be close to us. Isn't this children?
So, if Jesus is trying to show me how I should be treating others, instead of using a phrase we mindlessly rattle off such as WWJD (What Would Jesus Do) which is good if it really really makes us think. But MAYBE we should think instead am I acting not only CHRISTLIKE (Christian) but am I acting child like in a positive manner?
I am not preaching at anyone, just thinking out loud. Do I treat Jesus, my Lord & Saviour, in a child-like manner? Do I trust Him without doubt or questioning? Do I rest in His arms knowing He will do as He states in His word, the Holy Bible? Do I love Him without wavering? Am I quick to forgive my enemies as He commanded (not asked!) me to do? Am I compassionate to others even if I feel they don't deserve it? Many many questions.
Lord, my blessed Redeemer, may I be more child-like. Quick to bring all problems and questions to You knowing You will do exactly as You have promised. That You love me more than I can even imagine, and if I don't understand, trust that You are still doing what is for my best.
That's it peeps. Will write more later. Hugs & love
