Money Blues
Met with our new life insurance agent last night & reviewed our policies, which was a good thing. Turns out that 1 of my husband's policies showed his parents rather than me as the beneficiary, so we had that changed.
The "bad" news is that my life is way underinsured, and because my husband doesn't make that much & it's inconsistent, there is more of my value to "make up" in life insurance. Bottom line: it's gonna cost more per month--about 75% more. OUCH! I mean, it really needs to be done, but it's hitting the disposable cash, for sure. Kind of frustrating that he's not taking the bull by the horns & trying to get more steady employment. I mean the irony is that: I have to pay more $ to life insurance because he does not make more money. Will he put 2+2 together? Mmmm...probably not!
I told him to chase down his company for his expense check, because the gas $ is really eating away at what he's making. I can't even pay for his student loan + credit card with his $. And because he's actually earning $ now, he's spending more & probably more than he should be. But I already know the answer to that one: "I can spend my money any way I want!" Been there, done that... Anyhoo...we need that expense check!
I talked the chimney company down $200 off their estimate, since they didn't do the scaffolding as originally planned. It's still a lot of $ ($1200), but every bit helps. Maybe my Christmas bonus can help the credit card?? Then I get an extra paycheck in January. Sadly, it doesn't look like it'll be paid off this year, but I'm hoping hoping hoping before the 0% interest rate expires. That would be nice.
