Monday with a smile
MONDAY MORNING
***********************************
Yesterday was the turning of the spirit of love within me. Thank you all for hearing my cries, and especially to Joanie for reminding me of HALT. I rarely live as close to the edge as I have been, and I need to watch out for myself. I think I was hungry, angry, lonely AND tired last week! : P On Sunday after church I went to the Y and did a workout: 30 minutes on the ARC trainer and 30 minutes of weights. Whenever I was pushing I was fine. Between each push/lift/effort, I felt tears surging to the surface again. I wept between each machine. What a hot mess. But it was cathartic. I embraced the sorrow.
**************************************
My Listening Group gathered last night at my house. (The Sacred Art of Listening: 40 Meditations, by Kay Lindahl.) It was so good to have a circle of friends around a candle. I had also lit a nice fire in the fireplace to make the space warm and cosy and fragrant. In our 'check-in' time each person takes a turn to speak, but there is silence and no talk-back... it's YOUR TIME to talk and be heard. LOve it. I told them how fragile and tender I've been, and how everything is breaking my heart with sadness or beauty. Their faces were so golden and sweet. We went on to talk about all kinds of listening. It was lovely.

Drew made me smile this morning. We're in the bathroom. (Don't worry this isn't graphic.) I'm drying my hair and putting on some make-up. He gets out of the shower and growls as he dries off. Then he says, "Just growling at the concept of Mondays. Who came up with this terrible idea?!?" We both laugh. It's really nice to share our lives, finally.
I had set things out last night in the kitchen and programmed the coffee maker so that our Monday morning would be as minimally frazzling as possible. I don't even mind that he jokes about 'this vale of tears'. Heck it is. He makes his egg sammich and apple oatmeal, I have my toast with almond butter, we wheel the trash containers back into the garage, under a big blue sky. We say have a great day sweetie, and head off to work. It will be a long doggy day, as we say, but we have much to be thankful for, and we know it.
***************************************
Today, I feel better than I have in a while.
Much love to each and every beautiful one of you, and if you haven't watched that video "Come Closer" yet, I hope you can find time later on. It's about 4 minutes long... and so radiantly joyful.
xoxoxo Sarah

So glad you found happiness with Drew! It is so hard to find at our age. Happy too that you got love out of the Listening Group. Boyoboy, as you know, I could use that! I need a footbal field full of listeners! (Kidding).
Thanks for showing that there is light at the end of the tunnel!
Love,
Soos

Oh Sarah ~ What a beautiful entry! It is such a relief when the million pound weight that we haul around for the first few months begins to lighten ~ my heart rejoices for you!
Sending much love and hugs for continued progress and growth ~ Debbie
Out of the Darkness and into the Light - Magical Process - So glad you know when to say when. Transformation is soooooo good for the soul. Basking in it with you....for a moment. Love to you, Lovely. Suzzanne
I read this with a grateful heart that something that came in for me was received as it was. :) You are doing what you need to for you in the midst of life with the beauty and challenges that continue to present themselves. Even your \"morning routine\" was filled with connecting and gratitude. I will listen to Come Closer and look forward to feeling the joy. Your incredible presence is so appreciated dear Sarah. Continued love and awareness of when \"HALTING\" is begging for your attention. Comfort and Peace be yours, Joanie
Just so happy for you, a good way to start the morning, and the week. Gather ye rosebuds, as they say. I tell my children: sadness comes and tough times, too, please celebrate all the good that\'s sent to you. abby
griveing is a life long process. i,am sorry it was sad for you. we all have our good days and bad days i hope today was a better one for you. hugs zzz
I feel the \"better\" in your words....I hope the rest of the week is gentle too!
..know what you mean about being in a place where beauty and sadness seem to break one\'s heart more...but glad there has been a coalescence and some rays of rest and peace and happy moments with cherished people....love to you, dear Sarah....
\"The sacred call is transformative. It is an invitation to our souls, a mysterious voice reverberating within, a tug on our hearts that can neither be ignored nore denied. It contains, by definition, the purest message and promise of essential freedom. It touches us at the center of our awareness. When such a call occurs and we hear it - really hear it - our shift to a higher consciousness is assured.\" ~ David A. Cooper
I wish we had a \"listening group\", I\"m sure it is theraputic......you made me laugh when mentioning Drew....May you week continue to be gentle....
Sarah...you have some really nice things going on that will certainly help you over the long run. I\'m jealous! I\'m in a very bad place right now, and hubby and I are not getting along.....I start into tears at about everything. Am trying to do my best, but it is hard (our losses are different, but they do effect in much the same ways). MCS keeps me from nice fireplaces and candles, and things I used to love. It seems that since 2002, my life has just been filled with losses. Gotta get the other end of the scale going! Thank God for my two grandchildren!!! THank you for your heartening story....very enjoyable and I\'m so happy for you!
Becky
I so enjoyed this glimpse into your life! LOVE the Listening Group! What a concept!!! This is SO why the retreats were birthed. The first ones, being smaller groups of us, were easy to find those Listening opportunities. The team has worked so hard on bringing this back no matter how many of us are able to attend...something we really need! I can close my eyes and envision your lovely room filled with lovely ladies sitting by candle light sharing and truly being heard. What a gift for all of you!!
I\'m a terrible listener. They say when someone interrupts when you\'re talking it\'s because they think what they have to say is more important than what you have to say. I\'m terrible at interrupting! I say it\'s because my mind is so forgetful if I don\'t say it now I won\'t remember it later. But in all honesty, that\'s the same thing as saying what I have to say is more important. Gosh, I really need a listening group!
Hi Sarah, so glad to hear the day is a bit gentler. Love and hugs, Linda
