Monday morning, getting ready for pulmonary rehab
Good morning journal, the time is now 4:47am,I've been awake since 4:00am when Buttons gave me her usual hefty nudge to let me know she needed to go outside. I duly got up and let her and Caesar, who had decided that he'd better keep her company, out back and waited until they were done. Back they came and I returned to bed,I had just gotten comfortable again when Buttons did her "I need to go" thing with her nose, poking me very firmly to make sure I hadn't gone back to sleep. Out of bed again and out back once more, they finished doing what they needed to do,Caesar had once again decided that he'd better do the brotherly thing and keep an eye on his sister, and in they came. It was at this point that Buttons started to pace up and down, continually butting me with her nose, and that is a sure sign that her tummy is bothering her,I put my hand on her stomach, and sure enough,it was gurgling and burping like an old boiler past it's best,I looked for her medication in the kitchen drawer but all I found was an empty packet, and it was with a sinking feeling in my own stomach that I knew that further sleep was not an option for me,so rather than disturb my wife,I made coffee and remained in our lounge with Buttons, gently rubbing the affected area and trying to move some of the trapped gas around to ease her discomfort. Caesar of course couldn't be left out of all of this attention giving, and he lay on his back for a tummy rub too,and I was once again reminded of how grateful we should be to God for His foresight in giving us a second hand,it's always good to carry a spare, just in case you need it. The weekend was one of tiredness and hours of sleep,on Saturday afternoon,I went to lay down at around 2:00pm,when I next opened my eyes it was 9:45pm,a whole day wasted almost. I got up,had a coffee, watched the fights on television and returned to bed at around 12:15am after taking my night medication,I was asleep by 12:25am,and I next awakened at 7:15am the following morning. Sunday,I managed to remain awake the whole day before finally retiring at around 10:45pm for the night and you know the rest,Buttons woke me this morning and we are where we are now. In just over five hours time it will be time for my next pulmonary rehab class and I am trying to prepare myself mentally for my time in the gym,I am looking forward to it,but I am not overly enthusiastic about venturing outside to travel there,it is cold and damp, with the threat of more rain than we seem to have had overnight, but it is something I need to do so I will just have to make the best of it. Tomorrow morning,we have an appointment with a lady called Janet from the citizens advice bureau, this is the first step for us in getting a debt relief order put in place, once we have completed all of the formalities,we will then be,in effect, voluntarily bankrupt,it isn't ideal, but at this time,it is the only option left open to us,we have tried to pay our creditors something each month, but now,as things stand financially,we are unable to keep up the payments any longer and this is our last desperate throw of the dice as it were. Tomorrow evening,I have my brain scan, then on Wednesday I can rest a little in preparation for my next stint in the gym on Thursday, what's that old saying about waiting ages for a bus and then three turn up at once?,it's a bit like that this week for me. Anyway journal,it's time that I was getting ready for class so I had better get the things done that I need to before I leave, first and foremost on my list of things to do this morning is fresh coffee,I have a feeling I'm going to need all the extra energy I can muster today,so,until next time then, may God's peace and love fill our hearts and our home this day.
