Monday Blues
No it's not a song....Feeling really down. Three years ago my best friend died. His name was Rex and he was a 6 year old Shepherd/ Dobi mix that weighed 140 lbs and stood as tall as I do! He slept with me and Liz and when she went to work in the morning he would come up and share my pillow with me. I saved his life 2 years earlier at the shelter. I worked at the animal control facility and it was not a no kill shelter. He was so big no one wanted him even though he was a sweetie. I couldn't put him down so I adopted him. He had a wonderful life. I lost him to cancer. I hurt so bad at this time of year. It was like loosing a kid.

I changed my avatar to a Christmas picture. I opted for Santa because I have had a religious avatar for the last month! I will do a reindeer pic from December 15th til the 1st

Awe. I am sorry for your loss. I know how hard that is..they become like our children!
I FEEL YOUR PAIN BROTHER. I HAVE LOST SEVERAL OVER THE YEARS AND NONE OF THEM WERE EASY. WE ARE DOG LOVERS AND WE TREAT THEM LIKE A CLOSE PART OF THE FAMILY. THE ONE I HAVE NOW CAME FROM THE SHELTER.
I am so sorry Denny. Our pets are like our kids. Its horrible to loose them. I stil have part of the ashes of 3 of my dogs i had to put down. i havent had the heart to bury them yet and its been many years, exept for my old bulldogge, he was last year. i want to make something special and put them together somewhere i can go and visit them. I have two dogs from rescues now, but i still really miss my old babies and thier unique personalites.. Hugs to you!!
My Rex and Lady (our 1st Pit) are on our mantle over the fireplace. When they were cremated they gave the ashes back to us in beautifully carved wood boxes. They will go with us where ever we go. So will my Misty one day! I want to have a family cemetery after we move...I wish to be there with them one day (in my Wal Mart Coffin... Yes I said Wal Mart... check it out!!
Hugs Denny, my first child was a dobie and she lived 16 years. i miss her even though I have had other dogs, she was my very own 1st love. my boyfriend bought her for me and he bought her brother. those dogs went everywhere with us, through marriage, and our 1st born daughter. I miss her and my ex
