well it has been an interesting day to put it mildly.
I think the only one that got much sleep in the house was the 6 yr old gd last night. LOL
Hubby was up and down more then toast in a toaster. I tossed and turned most of the night so I think I will try a different approach tonight.
Overall the day has gone pretty well. Hubby survived his first day of work. He came home, ran up and saw his dad at the nursing home, and came home and crashed out. He was up for a little bit but has gone back to crash out for a little while longer. He was told that this next run could last from 14 - 17 hours depending on things. I am glad he has a partner going with him so I don't have to worry as much. He is having doubts as to how long he will be able to handle these odd working hours right now.
The only thing that kind of bothered me tonight was that he has talked more to his family tonight then to me...or darn close. I shouldn't be surprised or upset but it does bother me some. I should have known this would be what would happen but I didn't think about it at the time.
On the upside, son & gf both stepped up to the plate tonight and helped me out while I helped them out. They took and ran the 6 yr old to and from dance while I kept the baby for them. That way it gave them a chance to get out without a little one for a few. I fixed a casserole and put it in the oven, gf dished it up, and son put it away in the refrigerator afterwards.
It is going to take some getting used to hubby's new hours for me as well as him. He is by no means a night owl while that is my natural inclination. So this is a whole new experience for him.
Hubby gave up trying to sleep for the night so I think I will head to bed. I am tired and ache. GD came home saying she was tired after dance tonight. I thought you can't be tired yet girl as you have a very full week a head of you! ROFL
